A lot of people have complained about the improper fittings, but what is worse is ... this thing is hard to clean out.... muck builds up at the bottom of the waterer and unless you have a pool vaccuum, once you've attached it to a wall/rail there is no flipping it over to clean it out. My horses stall stinks. If you try to clean out the water the smell that is released is HORRIFIC!
DO NOT BUY IT! There is no dranage cap at the bottom to clean it out... bad bad bad design.

I have never seen waterer crack and fall apart the way that these have. I bought more than 10 of these for my new barn, and within days they started to crack and then tear at the rim. Some had the whole bucket fall off. Terrible product. I would not reccommend them at all! A real waste of money!

We have four of these waterers in operation about eight years now. There have been times when a valve would need working on or a hose would leak but it was easy to fix. We use the metal clad hoses for washing machines on them. Only problem is getting plugs for them. Wish we could use them in the winter when we have to haul water to the heated buckets. Have never had one crack.

Not a good product. Starts to fall apart after about a year.

Ordered 2 waterers; installed in pens in the shade. Such poor quality, where the mold curved, the product was thin and within a couple of months, both waterers started cracking and leaking. We live in Arizona; it's not cold here. This is a very poorly made product and we wasted our money. I'll never buy something like this online again; I'll want to see it in person. Don't waste your money!!

Not an easy connection, leaks constantly, hard to mount. Would not recommend this product at all.

Good for the old mare but othere horses had them crushed with days. Enclosed literature identifies them s dog waterer. A waste of your money for horses.

I have had 6 of these and am buying another as we speak. You are right, a hose does not fit this. Just go to the pumbing dept. at home depot. I even have one horse who uses his as a seat! Thank goodness the metal hangers go very far out the sides. You can't beat the price. I would recommend 110%

This cant be connected to a regular garden hose. I went to 3 different hardware stores to find the fitting for it to work with a garden hose. I have bought other complete waterers in the past and they had everything I needed includng a hose. This kit did not. The extra parts I needed to buy cost way over the amount I thought I would be saving vs. buying the one at my local hardware store. The float was not attached so I had to take it apart, and use a different nut & screw because the one that came with it was reverse threaded. I did get it to work eventually.

I am very pleased with this waterer. It does not leak. My horses and donkey love it. You just have to attach float first.

I LOVE the drain feature - makes cleaning so much easier. The only thing I would change would be to make the float a little more easily accessible to hold "closed" when necessary. NOTE TO THE PERSON WHO NEEDS IT TO FIT A GARDEN HOSE IN LA - I might suggest contacting the manufacturer directly for assistance.

This is a great product, anyone with a barn and horses knows the work involved and time invested keeping horses watered, a barn isn't complete without some form of automatic watering system. The little bit of effort required to install these watering devises will be paid back a thousand fold over the life of the product. Plus the added benefit of happier horses!!!

A very good product. We purchased two and have had for several years. We had to replace the plastic float assembly recently but that was not very expensive.
Would highly recommend.

Nice bucket except the hose fitting is a 58 inch diameter, male receptacle. It turns out to practically impossible to find a 58 male to 12 male attachment, or a 58 female hose connector.

Over the past 7 years I have purchased at least 6 of these waterers and have had them installed at three different barns. They are great automatic waterers and I would recommend then to anyone. I have had them outside in the cold and while others waterers were frozen and the horse could not get any water these worked great for the horse.

This product is listed as complete, but it IS NOT. I have been running all over the Los Angeles area looking for a part to enable this waterer to fit a standard garden hose. I cannot find one so the waterer has never been used. Don't be fooled.

The water connection doesnt fit a hose connection. We are having to rig something. We had an old one and now this one is different than that one. So we have to figure it all out over again.
