what size would I get if I normally need a 17 1/2 english saddle?
    Anne L on Dec 8, 2013
Best Answer: It depends on your weight and your height. If you are 5' 2" or under, you'll probably want youth fenders to start with because the fender shape restricts how much stirrups can be shortened. In general, someone who is 100 - 125 pounds will fit a 15" or 16" inch western seat, with the 16" being for people 5' 10" or taller. 16" will generally fit up to 185 pounds, but a pear shaped woman might fit better in a 17". Western and English saddles' seats are measured differently, so riders tend to need a smaller sized seat for western saddles than English saddles.

what is the tree size on a 15 inch?
    A shopper on Sep 14, 2015
Best Answer: Based on some recommendations, I purchased this saddle one size larger than I typically ride because of the padded seat. The padding seems to make only a half size difference. If you are comfortable in a 15, and you buy this in a 15, it will be a cozy 15. Moving up to a 16 will make it a little roomier of a "15."
