I never experienced blade overheating, I guess because I maintain my Dogs coat, I don't wait until he needs a shave down, I usually give him a trim with a 3-3/4 andis blade. I like the length, I love the performance. And most of all, my Bischon dose not mind at all getting a haircut. The dual speed is a major plus, it makes it so much easier use long strokes when cutting. Overall it's the best clippers I have ever owned.

yes i agree the blade gets hot but only after long periods of use..switch blades or use blade cooler and their fine. they leave a great smooth, sleak looking cut on shorter haired dogs and a nice fluffly cut on longer dogs, no streaks. their perfect and they last, mine have been knocked outta my hands and hit the floor several times and they still run great. any groomer should always no to have back=up blades for whenhtey get hot anyways unless you want to use cool down. i recommend them highly nand i use mine for hrs everyday, their my favorite and i have 3m pairs of andis clippers.

Only buy these if you can afford to buy new blades EVERY time you cut your dog. They get very hot. I would not recommend these at all

I am a professional groomer and I have used these clippers every day for almost 11 years. They are great and although they do get hot if you use them for a long period, if you are properly using cool lube on the blades you have nothing to worry about. They have worked very well for me. I will buy another pair when these ones die on me.

I bought these Andis clippers because I read good reviews on various websites. I also bought them from this site because theyre about 30 dollars cheaper than the big PET- stores. I ordered them on a lunch break and they shipped the next day. Since I am pretty close to them I got them today...so 3 days from order...nice.
The clippers cut very well. The housing doesnt get hot like the cheap ones I have but the blades do get a bit hot...that was after an hour of using them though. I have a cocker and an english springer...the cocker gets thick curly hair and this clipper got right through it. no lines in the fur either. it is also a bit quieter than the cheap clipper and dont vibrate as much which allows the dogs to calm down a bit. After a few groomings the clipper has paid for itself. Plus...my dogs dont sit the groomers all day in a damp cage...and i dont have to deal with reschedule and taking them early in the mornings before work.

My dogs look great but not without suffering from the extremely hot blade! That hot blade will burn your skin off and because of that I would not purchase this clipper.

The only reason these aren't getting 5 stars is because the blade gets extremely hot extrememly fast! Even using Blade Ice doesn't help. I actually burned myself & a spot on my dog with these. You have to repeatedly stop grooming to let the blade cool down. I've ordered the comb attachments to snap on to keep from burning myself or my dogs. But for actual cutting wise these are excellent! They do shavedowns on my cockers great! I've wasted money buying those Wahl clippers so I decided to order a heavy duty professional set. Now I almost wish I had ordered the groom master though! After seeing how well these groom; I would love to have the others to shave down faster. All in all I give these 4 stars.
