I have had my andis clipper w/ the light for several years. The light has never failed. I have my sharpening guy clean them out every now and then. They are great. They do get a little hot faster cause of there speed but I just keep two pair of clippers pluged in and switch back and forth. I highly recommend them.

I love my new clipper! I have been grooming for 17 years, and always preferred Andis, I like and used the 2 speed AGC clipper for YEARS. I like the new lightspeed, although I worried that it was a one speed, it clips great. I never used the high setting on the 2 speed much anyway, and this one is faster than the old one was on low.
The light is GREAT, it is the best invention ever. They should put lights on nail trimmers, scissors and combs, HA HA!
No really, seeing under the dogs legs and tail, around its toes, is SO much easier now.
I did not like that the instructions do not say if the light will wear out, how to replace it if it does, or why you switch it on and off. If it needs to be off, WHY? Will it use up the life of the light? No answers in the instructions.
The switch runs the clipper when turned on, then you push the switch up what would normally be on HIGH on a 2 speed clipper to turn on the light.
Sometimes, the switch is a little hesitant. I worry about that. The switch moves very easily, which makes it sometimes switch off.
The clipper is light and feels good in your hand, but the cord should be a little bit longer.
I would recommend this product, but wish Andis would do a little more work on the instruction booklet and the switch.
