How long does this last?
Lanny B on Jan 12, 2016
Best Answer: LOL, not long enough... I was giving my mare one ounce morning and night, tried putting in the feed and she would not eat it, so went to a syringe. It does help heal up the sores, but I got tired of fighting with her to give her the medicine, so called a local vet and was told they can formulate a monthly shot to counteract her allergies to the mite bites. Hope this helps.

recommendations for help with nasal discharge from allergies?
Lisa S on Apr 28, 2016
Best Answer: I used this product as when I moved my horses to Texas they started to have allergies. It stopped the nasal discharge and the cough. I used it mainly for the cough as they only had a little discharge. It helped in a few days and continued to work. If I stop it the symptoms come back. I keep my horses on it all the time now.

My horse has swelling around his eyes from allergies and I want to put him on something. Do you know if this would help him or should I try Histall H? Any suggestions would be helpful. He is turned out at night and does wear a fly mask when the fly's are bad. This only happens this time of year so I am really thinking it is a seasonal allergy to the pollen and bugs.
Julia M on Jul 29, 2016
Best Answer: I think medication is more geared towards respiratory allergy symptoms. If your horse is having these types of symptoms you may want to ask your vet to check it out, I know that eye issues can affect their tear ducts (they may need to be cleared) and some vets will prescribe meds for swelling (some people use Benadryl on their horses for these syptoms related to allergies) but it might be something else! Eyes are really not something you want to take a chance on regardless, definitely have your vet check it out. I ended up using this when my horse began coughing due to allergies, but shortly after my vet ended up perscribing a medication that is working better and is even more affordable that this supplement (win/win).

Do you use all year long or just spring and fall?
A shopper on Sep 30, 2016
Best Answer: Here in Florida i use it from about March
after the grass starts growing and I'll probably stop around December after the first frost. It doesn't hurt to use it all year round if you have a Heave type horse. Generally the winter takes care of the problems with the grass that the horse is allergic to. Just stop in the fall after the first frost and see how the animal does.

Will this product help with cough due to airborne allergies and lessen the effects of heaves? Would histal h be better?
Fern B on Sep 23, 2016
Best Answer: The AniHist definitely helped my horse, Hemingway, with his allergies. His eyes don't run and he doesn't get hives on his body anymore. I can enjoy riding him now that he can breath freely again. AniHist eliminated any of the symptons caused by his allergies.I can't speak for the Histall since I never used the product.mtons

Do you think this will work for seasonal skin allergies? My mare has sweet itch and I am looking for something to help when her skin flares up (in addition to using fly sheets and sprays)
A shopper on Jul 14, 2016
Best Answer: Yes I do believe AniHist works great for seasonal skin allergies!!! We have been using this product for several years on all of our horses!!!
Most of the tiny bumps on their skin seems to be from those nasty little "no see em's" biting bugs that bite them at night! We don't use fly sheets, only fly masks and some spray...all though sprays don't last on hot sweaty horses.
We start using the AniHist early in the season to get it in their system and use it through out the hot and wet seasons. 1 scoop a day, some only need a half a scoop per day. AniHist for us works kind of like Benadryl in humans...definitely helps the swelling and itch!! I have never seen any bad reaction from using this product on our guys!
Love this product and highly recommend it! I hope it well stay has bean very hard to find in the past.
Hope this has helped....

AniMed ImmuAid 16 oz
AniMed ImmuAid 16 oz
Best Answer: The ImmunAid is to boost their immune system. Good for horses who are hauling to shows or even babies that are getting weaned. Anytime their immune system might be compromised. The AntiHist is an aid to help with allergy or congestion problems. If a horse has a snotty nose it will help relieve it along with proper antibiotics if needed.
