Why did you choose this?
Will this help a pony who I think has foundered and has a hard time walking around?
Best Answer: In honesty, I don't know but it for sure can't hurt. I have used it as a preventative against grass founder for my horses not as a pain killer once a horse has foundered. I advise talking to your vet and farrier about ways to trim the pony's feet to help him heal and to your vet for some Previcox or other long term pain med. The Remission might help the pony from foundering again on grass but you're always going to have to be careful with him or her.ie keeping the pony off grass altogether or using grazing muzzle. Once they've foundered there is a tendancy to refounder -that's where the Remission comes in. Good luck and I'm sorry for sucha late response.
Has anyone used this for miniature horses? (approx. 300 lbs)
Best Answer: I have not used it for minis but have been using it for a large pony - app 700lbs. A combination of an excellent farrier, feed and weight management, and use of this product according to instructions has produced successful results. It was suggested this pony be put down but he is once again a ridden trail horse. Don't be afraid to persevere in fighting founder and best of wishes for a full recovery. :)
My horse had seedy toe in February but has recovered somewhat thanks to my farriers regular trim. He still thinks the hoof is not growing well enough and asked me to get biotin. I'm looking for a long term solution. Could remission be fed with animed biotin? Thanks.
Best Answer: Since Animed "Remission" already contains some Biotin, there would likely not be a drug interaction with adding a small amount to beef up the the quantity the horse is fed as a booster. How-ever, as with any supplement there is such a thing as "to much of a good thing" so I would suggest asking your Vet or googling one of the Vet sites to check for the optimal amount to feed based on the weight of your animal. Keeping the feet as dry as possible will help as well as applying an antibacterial(eg:peroxide or a somewhat dilute iodine based compound) to the bottom of the hooves to prevent bacteria entering the laminae and causing infections, inflammation or hoof diseases can be of help.
In the ad at the bottom it states that (Please note, due to the active ingredient Chromium, this item is not for sale in Texas. We apologize for the inconvenience.) My Question is WHY????
Best Answer: Texas has Chromium as a restricted item, so we are unable to ship products containing that ingredient to that state.
