Excellent quality,comfort and durable!

My favorite riding, working, hiking boot. I have five different pairs of this same boot in my mud room in various stages of being worn out. Have been wearing this style boot for over ten years. Comfortable all day. Highly recommend.

Are these boots insulated at all? Good for in the winter? Normal cowboy boots are just too cold for me to wear but can't ride in my snow boots :/
LisaF on Jan 8, 2014
Best Answer: I love these boots. In fact the ones I ordered in 2012 are my second pair. The first pair held up extremely well and I still wear them when its real wet and sloppy. Ariat's fit me very well and I can wear them comfortably all day. They keep my feet warm in the winter, but keep in mind I live in the south (Alabama). I will continue to purchase these boots as long as they are available. One last comment, they do run slightly large so I order one-half size smaller than my normal size. Cathy

Are these designed to be riding boots?
tammy m on Dec 6, 2015
Best Answer: Yes. The soles and support in the terrains are designed with riding in mind. I've ridden in them for years both English and western. Half chaos fit over them and they both fit and slide out of English and western stirrups. I ride both and have fallen off of both saddles wearing these. I've also worn them for hiking and all day working.

Are these boots waterproof?
Ashley P on Dec 3, 2015
Best Answer: I would say they are water resistant. Stepping in a puddle or two is fine but I would not walk in a creek or stream unless I used waterproof spray on them.

true to size?
A shopper on Feb 10, 2016
Best Answer: Yes, very good on sizing. I ordered the wide due to a previously injured left foot that I need more room for (ie: width). I wear these with a thick sock so judge accordingly. The size I ordered also accommodates a thick wool sock for cold weather riding. Hope that helps.

Is the photo of the Terrain taupe boot true to color? Other websites show a different color in an orange shade not a gray brown.
Shelley S on Jan 24, 2016
Best Answer: It is very close to the photo color for the Taupe. They are not orange or dark brown. Lean a little more toward sooty buckskin color. I think it's a nice color and they're good-looking boots. And they're so comfy I can hike in them.

Are these the same as the Roper boot?
A shopper on Feb 12, 2016
Best Answer: No,,a roper boot is more like a western boot,,,these are like a shoe. Very comfortable though and quite water proof.

Have a toe problem that requires my shoes to be in D and E widths. Can I get this shoe in wide widths?
Phyllis S on Apr 3, 2015
Best Answer: We do offer this boot in a wide width, although Ariat currently has several wide sizes that are not available. Some Customers also buy half a size up if they want t a wider boot.
