Best all around for barn chores or in the saddle i have ever used
Kathleen B on Jan 6, 2016
These are the most amazing boots ever! I love the fit and comfort of the boot. These boots last a long time. I wear the horseback riding and hiking, they are so comfortable that they are my go to for doing yardwork. I love these and have bought them for both my daughters.

do they run true to size, I'm having to buy 11s in everything now, used to buy 10-1/2?
Beverly R on Dec 4, 2015
Best Answer: I get the regular - not the wide - and have found that they run large. Normally I wear a 9 in shoes but find 8.5 in this boot to be plenty roomy. Could probably fit into an 8. BTW, I love these - am on my fourth pair in 5 years. I ride in them so wear them out at the side where the stirrup rubs. Everywhere else, they are still good.

Are they non-slip?
A shopper on Nov 8, 2015
Best Answer: I'm not a shoe expert, so I couldn't say they meet specific non skid standards, but they have a nice tread on the bottom and I have never slipped in any condition. They are comfortable with good support. FYI , Ariats consistently run a 1/2 size big for me

Do these boots provide some foot protection while working around horses?
JoAnne F on Jun 28, 2015
Best Answer: If the question is whether the boots will protect your toes if a horse steps on them, the answer is no. The boots have regular toes, not hard toes. (Just watch where the horse is putting his feet!) That being said, I like these boots so much more than my regular paddock boots. The sole is cushioned and the toe box is wide. I can and do wear them all day and my feet are still happy at the end of the day. The boot also gives protection and support to my ankles. However, the best feature is the waterproofing. I can do a wash down, walk through puddles and into muck and not worry about wet feet. I highly recommend these boots for riding and comfort in the barn. They come in both regular and waterproof styles; go for the waterproof. Happy Trails.

Not sure whether to order an 8.5 or and 8.5 wide? How do I determine this? My foot is 4 inches wide. Would the standard 8.5 boot fit or do I need the wide version?
Ashley P on Dec 3, 2015
Best Answer: It depends on when you want to wear them and your area weather. I wear heavy socks all winter so I like the wide and even in the summer I prefer heavier socks over thin just because I spend a lot of time mucking out stalls and pastures and working with horse equipment and machinesupplies like tractors.

Which size type is the size option in, UK or US?
A shopper on Dec 18, 2014
Best Answer: I can only tell you that I normally take a 7.5 and this fit perfectly, I hope this helps you with the conversion. By the way, this is the first time I was able to get a wide Ariat which I really needed. Patricia Ratner

do these have the spur rest?
Gina C on May 31, 2014
Best Answer: There is a small edge just above the sole and upper boot area. They are just like the Ariat Terrain. I use an slide on spur with them along with a strap.
