Works well for overreach, but some quality issues, 8/2/2010
Stacia from

These are much better than the basic bell boots I bought for my Arab gelding last year. I actually bought them at my feed store and there wasn't a sizing chart there. If I was ordering from the website, I probably would have ordered small and medium, but having them in hand I could see better that he would fit in medium now and large in a year or two (he's only 2 years old). He's only had them for a week and they have stayed in place (he wears them 24/7). I took them home yesterday to wash (they were caked in mud from the rain). Brushed off most of the mud, and washed on gentle. The inside bottom seam tore in the washer, so I'll have to fix those. They also rub his leg at the top. Not terribly, but I can tell he'll have to have some breaks in-between to rest the skin. I don't know if it's because he has very pink skin due to his socks or if it's just the material. That is the only difference I noticed between the classic rubber bell boots and these. Otherwise, they stay on, in place, look great, and work perfectly for overreach.

Do the job, wear well, 12/6/2009
Marjorie from Granite Bay, CA

Other reviewers complain about the sizing, but if you read the size charts, the are sized as represented so ignore those who didn't do their homework. My horse wears these 24/7 and they are comfortable, stay positioned to protect, and are holding up well to pasture/big horse abuse :) That's all you can ask for!

bad sizing!, 10/10/2009
Jenny from Grand Rapids MI

I bought a pair of these in Medium for my smaller TB, and they were too small for his feet. I then tried them on my little arabian who usually takes small or pony size boots and they still didnt fit well. they seemed like great quality though! i have had better luck with classic equine's version of these...

Poor Sizing!, 5/21/2009
C.S. from Maine

These boots looked ideal in quality and comfort, but they are not sized well to fit around the pastern. My horse has "average" legs and feet and takes a medium in regular boots, but even the large Ballistic boots did not meet around her pastern. The Large size was too high and would restrict movement and rub. Very disappointed because the boots looked durable to hold up to a lot of use. Two other people at our barn got the same P.C. Ballistic boots and we all returned them for the same reason! I wouldn't recommend them.

Come small but stay on, 11/30/2008
S. Dale from Jupiter, FL

They come in small sizes. My horse is 15 hands and uses medium is almost everything but medium size is too small and I will haver to return it and get a larger size. What I like is the fact that they are designed not to rotate and they do stay in place, and even more importantly, they stay on the horse all day even if you ride hourse though mud and puddles, where other bell boots come off.

Great Item, 10/13/2008
Morgan from Cork, Ireland

Ive used my pair every day for one year in very wet and rainy conditions. They look almost new and Ive never washed them only used a dry brush on them. Great product that really does its job. Just make sure you purchase the right size or the item will rub.
