My gelding had surgery for a tumor that grew between his frog and heel.I had to do bandage changes and a duct tape boot. That grew old very quickly. I decided to try one of these boots. I bought it a size bigger so that it could fit the bandaging. They do run a little large, so be aware of that. My gelding wears a size 1 shoe so I bought a size 2. Still a little big even with bandaging. Only negative for me is that the buckle is not easy to tighten. I just use a little duct tape to secure it to the bandaging. Problem solved. That being said, I can slip the boot on very easily, it keeps his surgery site protected and dry. (we are in the sierra mountains, so there is lots of snow )The price is right and its easy enough to work with. Definitely a life saver for me and my boy!

I would never sugest these boots to anyone. They rubbed my horses heels raw!! Even with wraps it didnt help it from rubbing. They fitted well, but Not worth it! And they fall off on difficult terrain. As for the rating, I would rate these a ZERO!

I bought these for our tender footed mare. They did great on the trial ride but did not stay on in the soft sand of the arena. The buckle also broke a couple of weeks after we got them. We were able to fix them and continue to use them with little problem. They do come a little small, it was a benefit when the buckle broke as they were well fitted around her hoof. Overall a good product for the price.

I bought a medium and a large because my horse was in between sizes. The mediums were so small they wouldnt even fit on his feet and the large was so huge that they slipped right off. The sizing is horrible on these boots. You'd be much better off saving up for higher quality boots. Now I have to go through the hassel of returning BOTH sets.

The shipping was excellent along with the cost. The boots are high quality, durable, and solid. No complaints on the product. However, the sizing chart is way off. I bought a size small as her hooves fit the dimensions but when I brought them in they were way too small. My barn manager is a farrier and when he looked that them they had a small '0' etched on the bottom. He said they are not sized like boots, but more like actual horse shoes. I ordered a 0 when my mare would wear a 1 or 2 size horse shoe. The customer service was very understanding and they were immediately willing to change the size chart. I plan on buying two pairs again after I consult my farrier :D

I've used these on my older, tenderfooted mare. A great price for these when compared to a set of shoes! I found the sizing chart to be accurate for ordering. I got two sets, one for backs and one for fronts. Your horse's hooves have to be nicely rounded to use these boots. They were fairly easy to pull on and buckle. I have had no problems with them rubbing sores or falling off.

These boots run small. If you get the appropriate size, they are nearly impossible to get on due to the small opening and lack of flexibility. This is terribly unfortunate, since I would have loved to find an inexpensive alternative to Old Macs.
