Will these work on my year old ? what size do I need for him 600-800 lbs.
A shopper on Jan 24, 2016
Best Answer: Yes, it will work on a yearling, but it will be big. The nice thing about rope Halters is from a yr on their kinda one size fits all because you just tighten them to make them fit what ever size horse. I use them on all my yearlings.

What size rope is used for the halter and lead?
B B on Jan 16, 2014
Best Answer: The rope halter is the same size (cord) as other rope halters, the nose band is about 1/2 inch thick and nice and tight. The lead rope is standard thickness. I've used my halter on a daily basis now since I bought it and it's held up great. I like the extra thickness on the nose, it puts a more even pressure than the regular thin rope halters. I will definitely be buying more in the future.
