This chain lead helps keep my strong willed horse from running off while hand grazing. Respects his handler now!

I chose this because my miniature colt has a tendency to rear up and I need a stud chain to help get him to stop and the local farm stores don't have a stud chain. I had bought a chain to make a stud chain, but the chain is to long. Plus I have read some good reviews about this product, plus the price was reasonable.

How long is the chain? on the stud chain with rope lead attached?

Best Answer: The chain is, I believe, 24 inches long. It's attached to the lead, and you'd have to cut the rope to get it off. I found it to be too short to do up over the nose and up along the side of the face to the top ring of the halter. If you use it up over the nose, or through the mouth, it should work fine. I ended up buying a Weaver 30" stud chain that I simply clip the leadrope to.
