This is a great deal for the money. I own one of these and they are just great, they hold up fairly well. But then for the price you can't expect some great halter that holds up like it cost a 1000 dollars.
To those kids trying to convince their parents this si the right halter to buy. I would recommend it.

I saw this and was kinda sceptical...but for the prce i figured i would at least give it a try... i bout it in red and i have to say the color is VERYYYY bright like extremely, it was kinda stiff and the knots needed to be tightened a little, but for the price its great! the stiffness seems like it will go away and the color... well i guess i will just have a very bright halter:)

I don't like buying items like halters online but with this price i did... anyway i use it on bareback rides at my house and it is great! the halter isn't really stiff like my others witch sometimes is better to fit the face. the lead kinda small but very soft and strong, when i ride bareback i have to use another lead so i use like reins cuz i let my mare graze...... GREAT BUY! i strongly recommend

I love this halter:) ! I have 3 quarter horses and they are stubborn sometimes and this halter is PERFECT for controlling them. The lead is long enough to tie to the halter and go out on a trail ride with just a halter. I love the colors theu have also:) All my horses look great with red and blue. I just love this halter ALOT. It is tight for some big headed horses, but can be losened up to fit a larger horse.

Just to let everyone know about going to horse.com for this same item, it is the same price there as well. As of 3/2011. These halters/ropes work well if properly tied to your horse. They won't slip off no matter how hard your horse pulls on them, so use caution if you have a spooky horse. They could potentially hurt themselves. I have been using them for years, and have had no problems with them. Like any halter and rope they need replacing after a while. (Especially if you have a chewer like I do ;) ) The outer shell of the rope tends to "slip" back and forth on itself is my only gripe, but for that price who really cares??

This is definately a durable halter, but its sizes are a little big. My mom bought one for her Appaloosa/Quarter Horse mare and she's a decent sized horse and it sags around her nose quite a bit. And the rope thing it comes with is really weird! I'd suggest a lead rope with a snap if your horse is in any way jumpy caz the knot at the end might not hold a horse whose heart is intent on getting away.

I bought a purple one for my off white 2 y/o, and it is beautiful. She definatly looks more refined when she is wearing it.
I hesitate to give it full stars, but I can find nothing wrong with it. No snags, and if it gets dirty I just wash it off.
I have used "Cowboy Halters" before, and I like them much better than their thicker cousins. If you leave your halters on your horses for long periods I wouldn't use them because they can be rubbed off, and the knots could hurt them. But for when you are with them, they are much better. They give you more control, and they are lighter, not dragging on the horse...
Back to this particular halter, for this price it's a great buy. (Also, even though they said no lead included, I got a 7'-8' lead with it.) yay!

Hello, go to horse.com and get them at half the price! The same thing! Stateline is way overpriced when Countrysupply horse.com has everything too, with much more reasonable prices!

my mare prefers this type of halter over the nylon ones. it is very strong and durable and the rain has no effect on it. thanks for the great product state line tack!
