Why did you choose this?
Statelinetack.com Store
Because of its light weight and easy upkeep.

It sounds like a saddle that would work for me. I have limited strength and mobility in my arms and shoulders so lightweight is essential. Hope it's as good as it looks

Needed a new saddle for my quarter horse. This fit perfect. I love the fact that it only weighs around 15-20#s. Very easy to saddle up!

Borrowed my friend's new saddle yesterday, and it fit both my horses and me very well. Love the security of the very high back cantle, the rich black suede look, and so lightweight. I'm actually an english rider, so I was attracted to the round skirt style, and needed something more secure as a trail saddle for my spooky new horse.

what is the cantel size? also gullet size? thank you.
A shopper on Aug 8, 2015
Best Answer: Sorry I returned the 17 and got a 16 instead so I don't have the measurements. I will say that it fit my sharkfin kinda tubby TB. Right now I have to use a pad that builds up right behind the shoulders til that fills in. By the way I love this saddle. I'm 5'2" though so I had to buy youth stirrups (separatly and extra).

hi everyone. I have a very wide Arabian. I need a gullet at least 7.5" ... does this saddle fit my requirements?
thank you in advance.
Sheilah S on Apr 13, 2014
Best Answer: Mine fits a very wide backed horse . My widest horse is a haflinger and I use a Big Horn haflinger saddle for him. It's a tad narrower than a draft horse saddle and also fits one of my wide stock horses.

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the fenders on the BigHorn Synthetic Suede Full QH Trail Saddle? I am 5'2" and am concerned about stirrup length and I think saddle sz 16 is what I need.
Diane P on Jun 29, 2015
Best Answer: I have the 16" saddle, I'm 5'7" and have the buckles set on the 4 hole from the top. The top hole is 4.5" above the 4th hole. The distance from the top of the fender to the top inside of the padded stirrup is 18" when the fender is set on the top hole. The top of the fender is located 3 inches up inside the jockeys. See my pics on the CL ad for Big Horn saddle in Albuquerque in the Farm and Garden section . The last pic shows the buckle setting for me on the 4th hole. The fender is 8 inches at the widest part.

What is the model number on the tag under the concho near the pommel? I am looking for model #7240 because it fits every horse in my barn!
Bossmare on Dec 8, 2015
Best Answer: I bought a 16 inch, not a 17 inch. Great size and I am larger. My saddle is at the barn so I cannot check the model number but I bought a full QH synthetic. It is a great saddle for any price. I bought 2 of these saddles and use on a saddlebred with high withers, a Peruvian Horse with a wide back, and a short backed horse who is not so wide. It is very versatile and nice fitting. Hope this helps.

Does this saddle come in a 15?
Debbie P on Nov 25, 2014
Best Answer: You should check with the saddle distributor or your local tack store for that answer. They will be able to answer that question and any other questions about the Big Horn saddle. It is a nice saddle for the money.

I sent in a question yesterday regarding the red color on this saddle.
Still waiting for a reply!!! Apparently you dont want my business. I asked if the saddle came in all black? I really dont want red skirts and fenders. You say you answer quickly - so why havent I heard anything yet?
Bonnie M on Nov 20, 2013
Best Answer: If you select the black option for the saddle, the whole saddle is black with black fenders. Only the brown option has the reddish/ brown fenders. So when purchasing make sure to select the black option.

I tried my friend's synthetic big horn saddle today, and hers was a medium and just a bit pinchy... I'm wondering if these synthetic big horns saddles that you sell are medium-wide tree?

Best Answer: Unfortunately these saddles are not made in wide. in sizes 13-17 they are semi quarter horse bars.

I have a very thick, barrel shaped, slightly sloped back Quarter Horse and am having trouble finding a saddle to fit him. Some people think he is part draft horse due to his size, but he is a registered Quarter Horse. I need a saddle with an 8 inch gullet. Those who have this (or if Stateline reps know) - what is the gullet size on this saddle? Do you think this saddle is big enough for my horse? Thanks, Laura
Laura E on Jan 16, 2014
Best Answer: Sounds like you need a flex tree! My gaited horses need extra wide gullets, I finally bought flex trees ,and they are the answer.

Will this saddle fit a 5 foot small person? Will it fit a very wide backed Mustang? I Have short legs.
Tamara on Dec 15, 2013
Best Answer: Standard fenders are for people 5'3" and taller. We short people need to have youth fenders put on our saddles. "Full quarter horse" used to mean the saddle would fit a stocky quarter horse. I don't know whether Big Horn still follows that definition.
