Product Summary:

Cashel Step-Up Stirrup

Solve the age old problem of not being able to comfortably step up in your stirrup without the use of a mounting block with the Cashel® Step-Up Stirrup in a Bag.  It conveniently stores in its own bag so you can carry it on your saddle horn out on the trail.

The Step Up simply attaches  to the saddle horn and around the back of the cantle to create the extra step you need.  It features an adjustable strap and stainless steel hardware.

Not Practical, 12/4/2011

MustangSally from Virginia

This is not worth buying, at any price. Any kind of mounting aid that hangs down from the stirrup or saddle is not ergonomically correct for the rider or horse. Looks good, idea was good. But, when I tried it, the mounting stirrup swung under the horse before I could even get my balance to put my foot in the real stirrup. Maybe this works if you weigh 95 lbs! But, I had four people try it (thinking I was doing something wrong), and not one could get situated to mount the horse before it swung out of position.

not good at all, 10/14/2011

ta from alabama

Im short and my regular stirrup was as far up as it will go...even had to punch an extra hole but when I hooked the CASHEL to the saddle horn and behind the cantel it was shorter than my other stirrup so this is a waste of money.

nice product...IN THEORY, 6/19/2011

A.Y. from Ohio

I bought this for my mom who has a hard time mounting her paint gelding. It's easy...you hook the loop around the horn and loop the strap around the back of the saddle so the stirrup hangs next to the saddle stirrup. You adjust the strap so that it hangs lower than your saddle stirrup (obviously). However, once you try to "step-up" with your right foot into the stirrup, you swing under the horse's belly, lose balance, and are forced to step back onto the ground. There is nothing to hold the stirrup in place so you don't swing underneath your horse. I even tried using this product multiple times (thinking my mom didn't have the right technique for it down) and even adjusted the length multiple times and I still couldn't get it to do what it claims. So frustrating! Overall, I would not try this product because it doesn't work and especially because it is pricey! You'll have better luck finding a rock or using a stool to mount your horse with. Hope this review helps before anyone wastes $30 like I did!
