Correction Cushion Pads are specially designed to aid in providing optimal comfort and protection as well as to help adjust the fit of your saddle against the horse. They provide an easy way to help horses with muscle atrophy behind the shoulder or other conformational obstacles through the balanced distribution of saddle pressure. They go label side up with your saddle directly on top. Gradually decreasing in thickness from front (1-1/4") to back (1/2").  Recommended for use over a navajo, felt liner, or quilted pad. Clean with water and store on a smooth surface. Material: Neoprene.

What is pad made of? Am worried it will compress flat as it warms up.

Best Answer: I don't recall what it is made of but the product description may help with that. I would not have purchased it if it had said "filled with foam rubber" or anything spongy like that for the same reasons you have concerns. I believe it is filled with 1 inch compacted felt with a soft fleece outer shell. I have only used mine a couple of times because I also bought a different style at the same time as purchasing this one. It is currently crammed into my tack box and does not seem to have any distortion to its shape when I take it out. It is intended to be placed between your saddle pad and the saddle so it should not absorb sweat or heat from the horse while in use. It serves its purpose but is bigger than what I need. I was looking for a pad to give a slight lift in the front of the saddle to get the rider back in balance, for a horse that is a little taller in the hind quarters than his shoulders. Hope this helps you! Happy Riding!
