Item Specifications:

·        Measuring Instructions - Stand your horse as square as possible, measure from the center of chest around side of the body to the point of the horse's rump just before the tail. If you horse ends up measuring between sizes always round up to the next size to ensure full coverage.

·        Washing Instructions - Machine wash with cold water – Gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air Dry or Machine Dry/No Heat.

·        When selecting a blanket ensure to take into account your horse’s behavior, environment or other horses that may be turned out with your horse. The lower the denier number the less strength the material has. 420 Denier and 600 Denier are not recommended for horses that bite, chew or rub on blankets or for horses turned out with a companion or in a group. Always ensure your horse’s blanket is properly fitted and all straps are adjusted correctly, if a blanket is too tight or too loose, straps may break and material may tear. For younger horses or horses turned out with a companion or in groups, it is recommended to purchase 1200 Denier or 1680 Denier material as these are stronger materials and are less likely to tear. Certain types of fencing such as barbwire or foreign objects such as nails will easily tear any blanket no matter what the denier, always inspect the area in which your horse is kept to remove any nails or jagged fencing that may cause damage. There are no horse blankets that are guaranteed to not rip or tear.

need a tougher blanket for my horse. Last blanket I bought lasted about 2 weeks unfortunately.

How long is the "drop" on this blanket? My 16H TB lives outside with a shed and lies down so a long drop to cover his sides is a necessity.
DEBORAH T on Jul 6, 2015
Best Answer: I have 10 horses that vary from size 69" through 81" and the drop varies with size but is generous and appropriate. for my 16.1H TB I ordered the 78" and it is a little short because she is generously built. I use the 78" on my 15.3 TB mare and it is a little big and completely wraps under belly, both sides overlapping; so completely adequate for that and hangs off the top of her dock about 1". I highly recommend this blanket; super quality for the money and fabulous features. I have been extremely satisfied with the denier and the way it weathers; we are in Northern Virginia and get fairly cold weather in February. If your TB is in good flesh and generously boned you might want to order the size up from 78" and then you can add a 100gram liner if need be. Enjoy!

Is it waterproof?

Best Answer: Unfortunately I had to return this specific blanket as it was too large for my new boy. However, the Centaur 1200D turnout blanket is waterproof.

Is this blanket water proof?
A shopper on Feb 20, 2015
Best Answer: We just had a foot of snowfall this week and our horses wore this blanket in the pasture during the day while the snow was pouring down. When we removed the blankets at night to stall them the horses were perfectly dry and warm. Love this blanket!

Can't tell from the photo...it says the chest closure has snaps...but it appears from the photo to just be buckles. Does it actually come with the quick snaps so you don't have to undo and redo the buckles to take the blanket on and off?
Stefanie on Feb 8, 2015
Best Answer: Has snaps across front.
