Product Summary:

Ridden by trainer, clinician and TV host Julie Goodnight-this round skirted saddle is ideal for trail riding. Beautiful hand tooling and contrasting black seat and black strings make this one gorgeous saddle. With the Flex2 tree technology, it conforms to the horse's back while providing rider weight distribution and is light weight. Flex2 skirts have a shock absorbing neoprene filler for the horse and rider's comfort; skirt has a close contact design for precise cueing, a Slip-Not skirt liner for easy care with XPG gel bar pad for your horse's comfort, Impact Foam seat with narrow twist and broad pocket for all-day comfort, Softee seat jockeys and fenders provides a "ready to ride" saddle to minimize rider's knee and ankle strain because they are broke in right from the start. ErgoBalance stirrups and pre-twisted stirrup leathers reduce knee and ankle fatigue while promoting balanced riding.

Why did you choose this? Store
For all the great features of this saddle and I love it!

I notice the windriver saddle is noted as being "ideal for trail riding", while the Monarch says ideal for arena work and trail. Can you please explain to me the difference between these two saddles, other than the rounded skirt on the Windriver. Is the monarch better than the Windriver for arena work?

Best Answer: Both saddles are very similar with only slight differences. The Wind River and Monarch both feature Flex 2 tree's, Flex 2 skirts with "Slip-not" liner and impact foam seats. The Wind River was designed with trail riding in mind, with a 6 ¾” gullet and a skirt measuring 13" deep and 27" long. The Monarch was designed for both trail and arena, with a 6 ¼” gullet and a skirt measuring 15" deep and 27" long.

How do you know whether you need a regular tree or a wide tree? Thanks
A shopper on Sep 18, 2015
Best Answer: Typically a regular tree fits a horse that has a thoroughbred confirmation. The wide tree fits more a typical QH/Small Foundation Confirmation.

can this saddle be custom fit to fit my height of 5 foot 2? i was told i would need to have the fenders cut for my height. which would mean a custom made saddle and extra expense.

I have a 14.3 QH. I currently ride him in a dressage saddle size 16.5. The saddle has a wide gullet in it (Wintec). What size seat and what about gullet width.? I have a Albetta endurance saddle size 15 and it feels too smaii in the seat- it has FQH Bars?
Jacqueline H on Apr 8, 2016
Best Answer: Without knowing your heights and weight, I'd suggest a 16" seat from what you described. If the FQH is fitting your horse, then a wide should fit as well.
