How long should my horse stay U-guard?
A shopper on Jan 27, 2016
Best Answer: Two of my horses get this everyday. Both developed ulcers years ago.... Both were treated for the ulcer and now are on Ugard for life. They both are rather "hyper".....dumb word but they have a lot of spunk. IMO only it keeps the acid in check which creates ulcers......it's an antacid.....they do fine on it. My one horse is 29 y/o....he's still spunky as ever.....lol.

will it help him put on some wait he is 14 yrs old ?
Roger L on Jan 29, 2016
Best Answer: I am assuming since you put your horse on U-Gard you suspect ulcers or it has been conformed by a veterinarian with a scope. If your horse is in pain due to ulcers he/she will drop weight because of not eating correctly. I put my horses on U-Gard that are going to shows because of the stress some feel--which can cause ulcers and it has done a great job. If your horse has been confirmed to have ulcers by a vet a different medication may be needed to resolve the problem then be put on U-Gard to help prevent the return of ulcers.
