My horse loves to jump and run also roll and rub aganst the pasture fence. When she did these things with other blankets they ripped and snaged.I went through 12 blankes in 1 month because when she ran she ripped the blankets because of lack of leg rome.I have had the defender blanket for 1yr now and it still looks like new!

Nice mid-weight blanket. Love the swivel snaps! Be aware, blanket runs about one size smaller than normal. You will want to purchase one size up.

This blanket is NOT WATERPROOF, it is weatherproof! If you want waterproof...get a turnout blanket! Moisture will eventually seap thru. This is a good blanket for the price though. I purhcase this blanket as a "standby" blanket for my horse in case her turnout needed to be washed or repaired.

I absolutely HATE the elastic leg straps. They stretch out of shape and a horse can get tangled in them. Go back to the web leg straps!!

This is a great looking blanket. There is velcro in the front for reinforcement. However, it runs very small so be sure to get a larger size. Im not sure if this is actually water resistant.

For only $39.99, this is a great blanket. My only complaint is it's not a real good fit, through the chest/shoulder area, for high withered horses. I have a 16 hand quarter (looks like a thoroughbred) with high withers and the velcro on the chest opening will close at the very top, but is too tight & seems like it would choke my horse when he bends down to eat. I have to leave the velcro undone & just use the strap closure. The blanket also seems to want to slide down his withers (it's not cut to form to withers).
So, it's more of my horse's build than the poor quality of blanket. It forms nicely to the rest of his body. Also, the hind leg straps are NOT elastic as stated in the description. They are nylon straps with an adjustable buckle.
This is a good blanket for the price, but I wouldn't recommend it for a high withered horse with a long shoulder.

Received two of these as a gift. Fit was good. However, definitely measure carefully and buy the next larger size. Rear leg straps are a little long in my opinion even when adjusted as short as possible. However, neither of my horses managed to "wiggle" out of the blankets even after rolling with the blanket on. I generally prefer blankets with front leg gussets (which these do NOT have). But these are roomy enough in front that the horse can run with the blanket on. The 420D exterior seems pretty strong. No rips (yet...). For the money these are a good buy, especially for less active horses.

I recieved this product for Christmas and I am impressed. I have a 13.2 Mustang mare who's blankets tend to be too large. But this product really came through, it fits nicely, and the color looks great.
