after a few talks about sizing saddle pads to the saddle, I am a little confused. I have a 27 inch long saddle, front of skirt to back..do I need a 30 inch pad or a 32?

Best Answer: HI I think you should get the 32 inch. As the pad is used it will curve in the center and shorten up a little. I got a 30 inch, but I have a small horse, 14.3 hands, and a small 15.5 inch saddle. Love this pad, cannot go wrong with it. Get the one with the leather trim on the bottom. It's a little more expensive but worth it because there is less wool bulk in that area but protection for your legs. AMM

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN 100% WOOL AND WOOL FELT?
A shopper on Aug 20, 2015
Best Answer: I think it's that felt is compressed wool, whereas a regular wool pad is more fluffy like fleece? This pad doesn't really compress under pressure, but a fleece does. I actually cut this pad into pieces to stitch on a cotton pad, and fill in places where my saddle was bridging on my horse. Works great, better and WAY cheaper than a Mattes pad or other shim pad, because I can put the support exactly where I want it.
