do the sizes run small or big?
halzy14 on Nov 8, 2014
Best Answer: I do find that these run true to size. Click on the sizing chart next to the size & color option drop down boxes (it looks like a little ruler). Measure around the widest part of your calf. Then, with no shoes on, sit down with your knees at a 90 degree angle & measure the back of your leg from the floor up to the crook of your knee. Someone else may need to help you with this for accuracy. There is a stretchy panel to help customize fit, but if your measurements are at the top edge of a size, you might want to go larger. A little too loose can usually be helped by extra socks. A little too tall is usually okay because they're soft and will crinkle at the ankle.

I've read a lot of good comments about these half chaps, but I'm only a 4ft. 9in. tall adult female weighing about 100-105 lbs., and I don't want the chaps to cut into the back of my knees. What size would best fit me?
Susan V on Apr 30, 2014
Best Answer: Hello:

I purchased these half chaps in black a few months ago and have been happy with them. I am 5 ft. 3 and weigh about 100 lbs. I bought them in size small and they fit me well. I have recently purchased another brand which were too small in that size. But unless your calves are larger than normal you should be fine with the size small. Thanks

ARE THESE GOOD FOR RIDING IN THE RAIN?
CINDY P on Dec 12, 2014
Best Answer: I haven't ridden in these in any significant rain, just sprinkles. However, they are really light and flexible- even when wet. They do hold water, though, because I've drenched them while washing my horse and they stay wet until I take them off and let them dry overnight. Fortunately, they dry out and go back to normal after being thoroughly drenched. Hope that helps!

is a child small equivalent to an 8-10?
ChrisR on Oct 6, 2013
Best Answer: No idea, since I don't have kids. But I'm 4'11" and weigh about 100 lbs and the adult small fit me perfectly! They go right to my knees and are perfectly snug without being tight. Hope that gives you some frame of reference :)

Will these fit over western boots to make them appear english?
Kayla K on Mar 25, 2015
Best Answer: I haven't tried it, but I wear both paddock boots and western boots and I can't imagine these looking right over western boots and I certainly can't imagine them making the western boots look english. I don't know that they would even fit around the body of the western boots. They look great with paddock boots, though, and I get compliments every time I wear them :) FYI- I love these half chaps! They are so comfortable and easy to wear. They also hold up to a lot of use, wear and tear. I ride in them, muck in them, wash horses in them and they last me about a year (I repleace them before they really need it, just because they stretched out a little and I wanted them tighter).
