Product Summary:

Easy Care Boa Horse Boot™

Providing your horse with exceptional hoof protection, the Easy Care Boa Horse Boot™ was developed to improve on the hoof boot concept, based on materials and technology found in modern athletic shoes and snowboard boots.  Sold in Pairs.  Includes Gaiters.

Features:

·         Protection to the frog, sole, hoof wall, hairline, and bulb area

·         Stability and protection during aggressive riding conditions

·         Can be used for

o     Occasional and everyday riding for the barefoot horse

o    Aid in the treatment of founder, navicular, punctures, abscesses, bruises, contracted heels and other impact caused injuries

o    Protection during trailering, breeding and a quick fix for the occasional lost shoe

·         The Boa Horse Boot™ features

o    “Dial-shield – protective cap that covers the Boa dial mechanism screws on like a treaded bottle cap

o    Pull tab at the heel of the boot, similar to that on athletic shoes

o    Three small drains located on the sole of the boot

·         The primary closure is the Boa Lacing System™

o    Boot opens up large enough for the wide base of the hoof, for quick application without force or strength

o    After it is placed in the boot, turning the dial quickly tightens the boot securely around the hoof

o    To remove the boot, simply pull the dial and the tension on the boot releases and it is easily slipped off the hoof

·         Outside tread pattern is designed to provide traction similar to the natural barefoot hoof

·         NOT recommended for the following:

o    To be used to hold medications or invasive substances – may react adversely with the boot leathers and urethane sole

o    Not recommended for endurance riding

How to get the correct size boot for your horse:

1.     Measure the width of the hoof across the bottom at the widest point.

2.     Measure the length of the hoof from the toe to the buttress line of the heel. The buttress line is the farthest weight bearing point of the heel.

3.     Compare your measurement with the proper size chart below. If you are taking your measurements in inches, use the imperial size chart. If you are taking your measurements in millimeters, use the metric size chart.

4.     Ideally, the width and length measurement will fit into the same Boa Horse Boot™ size. If the width and length measurements indicate different Boa Horse Boot™ sizes, select the larger Boa Horse Boot™ size.

Love them, 11/16/2011

Dana from Madison VA

My horse and I love these boots. We have never had any issues with them falling off or slipping on the trail. They stay put even when my daughter and race up the driveway. I am getting ready to buy a pair for my daughters horse.

Longterm wear, 9/3/2011

Amanda from Central, NY

My farrier suggested I try these boots for one of my horses that's had serious problems with cracking and seperation that's causing infections. They are easy to use, but the first 8 hours in the pasture he had both locking caps off, and no where to be found. I'd suggest some duct tape or something if you also want to try these for other than trail riding.

great boot, 9/19/2010

joanne from

Just bought these after looking at many styles. I love how easy they go on my horse. They look durable. My horse seems to love them. Used them two days in a row and no chaffing or rubbing from the boot. The boots did come with inserts in case this happens. So far so good.

Judith Angeletti from

I have been using Boas for over 7 years on my paint, before the boa we tried other boots and kept losing them. I trail ride all the time even in thick MUD! I have only lost my boa once and that is when the mud was almost to her Knee, We found it (Under the mud!)

Works for Longears, 5/20/2010

1redmule from

I've been trying different boots for years, in search of something that would work on my mule in the rocky mountains of northern CA. Boa's Work! Through water, shale, sand, whatever....They stay in place and animal moves comfortably. They ALSO work well on donkeys. Only boot that I have found that works on longears narrower hoof.

"gotta be da shoes", 3/6/2010

Dallas from

We love these boots, I've been using one set on my two horses for a year and a half or more, they are holding up great, and I have put them through the torture test, they don't come off! I have been wanting to go barefoot for a long time, it was the right thing to do, we're invincible now.

Do not ride with out these on bare foot horses!, 1/14/2009

Kathy from Huntersville, NC

I have been riding with Boa boots on my quarter horse for well over 3 years now, on just one set! No more shoeing costs! I am about to order my second pair for my new second horse, hes a TWH and the size 1 I bought for my qtr horse are a slight bit too small for him hard to get on right, so he will need size 2s. Measuring the hoof correctly is the key, get it right and putting the shoes on is EASY. Too small and they dont go on easy, Too big and they spin on the foot... Have the hoofs trimed and then measure. Ride all day with no stone bruses, great traction, and no discomfort for the horse!
