I previously used Old Mac G2 and loved them. When the buckles became wet, they would swell and were hard to disengage, so I tried these trail boots. They were GREAT! Then I used them on a very rough trail with rocks and water. The cloth seemed to stretch and BOTH front boots rotated until the horse literally stepped through the side of each and the boots were flopping on the horse's ankles. My riding group was very frustrated with my many stops to reapply the boots. Now that the boots are misshapen, I must repurchase some Old Mac G2 for the front feet, a loss of about 100 bucks for the Trail. The rear boots worked fine and I can keep them.

I purchased these hoof boots a couple of months ago for my 6 year old Tennessee Walker. They not only fit him great and don't interfere with his gait, they do everything they say they're going to do and then some! They were truly tested when I went for a long trail ride with a friend in Cave Creek, AZ. I had confidence in those hoof boots before and they reinforced my confidence in them even further after that ride! They withstood streams, rocks, mud, deep sand, up and down hills, etc, etc, etc and not once did they budge and not once did the Velcro come loose. My riding buddy was completely amazed as well and made him a believer. Another great feature to this boot is that there is no left or right boot, so the wear can be evenly distributed, and they adjust to the hoof growth between trims!
I have used many kinds of hoof boots in the past, and these by far have been mine and my horse's favorite!

Love them from Cool,CA
I wanted something to use on the trails during the winter when my horse is barefoot, as he can get tender after a long ride. Boots were easy to fit and put on, and they stayed on. My gelding seemed to love them trucked down the trail like he has metal shoes on. The trails are steep, rocky, and muddy and the boots didn't give us any trouble. They seem pretty heavy duty; definalty worth the money.

I was not impressed with the over-all quality of these boots. I've only had them for a few weeks but the elastic is already stretched out. I have only put them on my horse in the pasture for about 20 minutes at a time to break them in. However, my biggest issue with the boots is that there is a horizontal seam that hits my horse right in the middle of his heal bulbs. The seam is rough and rubs his heals. It is a bad design. The only thing I like about the boots is that they are so easy to put on. I can stop and put them on for the short stretch of gravel road that bugs my horse and then take them off again. However, since he wears a size 8, I need a big bag to carry them around with us.

I own both easyboot gloves and the original easyboots with gaiters. They are good boots, but my horse kept losing them. He has a club foot and the gaiters would not fit around his leg the way they should. I bought the trail because I was sick of chasing boots on trail rides. They are extremely easy to put on, and they stay on! The design seems a little bulky, but it does not affect my horse's gait. The quality seems a little less as these are made in China, pretty sure the others are USA. I have also used them 24/7 for 1 week when horse had a bout with laminitis, they stayed on and showed no signs of wear or damage. Hopefully they last awhile.
