suprising neoprene girth, 11/13/2010

So I am a very new horse owner but I've been riding for eight years and in that time I have never seen any of my instructors use a neoprene girth so I was worried about getting one for my appalosa, whom I've only had for a month at that time. He was an obese pony with a 8.5 for a body conditioning score so I was looking for something cheap and temperary. I got a 54" and in two months it had gotten too small. In the two months that I have used this girth I have never had to deal with ruds or sores and the girth does not slip. I am about to buy another one in a 48" size that I beleive well fit him to use untill it wears out. The only thing I don't like about it is that it only comes in black which isn't very attractive with my havanna brown saddle.
