t value at a great price
How would you wash this pad?
Best Answer: I haven't washed it at all yet. I use it between a thin, shaped, all-purpose pad and the saddle, so it hasn't gotten dirty. I guess I would just rinse it thoroughly with plain water or maybe a little woolite and let it dry.
how thick is this pad?
Best Answer: Approximately a 1/4 - 1/2 inch. Great for a saddle that's a little too wide. I love mine. It has held up PHENOMENALLY! Had mine for maybe 3 years now and very minimal signs of wear. I use it with every ride and for my lesson students if that gives you an idea of the durability.
Would this half pad fit an 18" saddle?
Best Answer: Not very well at all. I tried it with my 18 in saddle and it was about an inch or so too short. :( I wound up giving it to a friend who rides in a 16 in saddle and it fits hers perfectly.
Is this a good choice for a horse whose saddle pinches?
Best Answer: If the saddle pinches because it is too tight, this only adds extra bulk. However, it does soften places the saddle rests on the horse, and it elevates the edges. Maybe have someone check your saddle fit and make a recommendation for the right pad. This pad worked very well for the Aussie saddle I was using. Gave some wither relief.
can you insert a shim into the back to create a lift back? Would the shim stay in one place in the pad or would it move?
Best Answer: Don't think a shim would work with this pad. The pad does have some lift in the back already.
