Rated 5 out of 5 by Video on how to set this up!! It does not come with very good instructions as we all know!, BUT i t is the closest knock off to the pessoa and if you YOUTUBE "balance system lunge" you get a few videos on how to set it all up!! GREAT PRODUCT! gave a topline to my scrawny TB. April 19, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed The instructions that come with this system are by far the worst instructions I have ever seen. The photos are so poor how anyone is suppose to figure this system out is beyond me. When spending this kind of money I want a product that isn't difficult and confusing to use. I thought I was getting what was in the photo and what actually arrived looked much different. It isn't a horrible product but the directions are horrible. December 19, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by training system overall, i think this is a wonderful product. my horse is responding very well to it and it seems to serve it's intended purpose. i would overall highly recomend this system. however... i have a 16.3 thoroughbred and the caveson is slightly too small. even if it weren't too small the instructions in no way, shape, or form describe how to hook up the lunge line, etc. to the caveson. i figured out the rest of the device well enough from the directions, but when i called to inquire about the caveson part i was told to "hire a trainer if i couldn't figure it out." i can understand you can't get all your horse knowledge from a brochure or over the phone, but i would expect when you purchase a product they can dole out the complete instructions for its use. overall still a worthwhile and very good product but don't expect help if you need it to use it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great knock off!! This product is a great knock off of the original Pessoa brand. The cavesson isn't the best quality but overall very nice. It comes with diagrams but no written explanations however I had no problems figuring them out. My mare tends to 'flip up and out' of her side reins and I feel this is much less confining for her. So far we've only worked in the lowest setting but I can tell shes much more relaxed in this than her regular side reins! December 30, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Training System I'd have to agree with Deb. I am really confused. Wish there was a video that shows how to use it. I thought i was getting the product in the picture but it looks a little different. December 6, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by tricky contraption I suspect this would be a great product if I just understood how to use it. There were two pages of photocopied directions; however, the pictures weren't detailed enough and left me more confused than ever. December 5, 2011

This is one of the best training systems out there! It has helped with my horse's headset - he is much more relaxed after training with this system.

Re-starting my 2 OTTB mares and have heard wonders about the Pessoa, this is the most similar yet less expensive. Hoping to get them both moving on the bit, engaging their hind end, and building up a topline.

I am thinking about getting this to use on my Arabian gelding who stands about 13.3h - 14h. He is very small chested, and my coming 2 year old appendix stud who stands about 14.2h - 14.3h. He is getting very stocky in the chest. Would this be a comfortable fit for the both of them?
Tabitha P on Mar 22, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, you can adjust it to fit most horses. We use it on everything from my 14.2 h paint to a couple of thoroughbreds that range between 15.2 and 16+. My mare is very narrow and the TB mare is thicker with a much rounder barrel. I love this as an aid to develope correct muscles and self carriage

Is this a good tool to use for a horse that needs work on forming a solid topline as well as helping with balance? Would you also say that a 15.3 hand TBxQH mare would fit in it as she has a very large chest using about a 52" girth with an All-Purpose english or close contact saddle?
Amber on Jan 16, 2014
Best Answer: I purchased the system in the spring of 2013. I have used this on my quarter horses who also are large bodied and it fit without any issues on them. I have also used this on Saddlebreds starting out training, it's not as intrusive or strict and has more give than other systems I have used. It's a good starting system to use for warming a horse up and working on collection, balance, and proper frame. The strap around the hind quarters takes some getting used to for the horses.

does this balance system come all put together or do you have to assemble the whole thing?
ann m on Sep 5, 2015
Best Answer: It comes out together if I remember correctly. There are a few snaps that will have to be hooked to the right place but it was really easy to figure out, and it comes with directions.
