want to try cross-fire rigging on new-to-us endurance saddle

I am thinking I might prefer to have a latigo on the off side instead of an off billet. I am trying Fabtron out becuase I have a Fabtron saddle and therefore an using that name as a guide to quality. I am familiar with Weaver, not Fabtron's latigo. I like the width and length of this strap.

Best Answer: I looked at the Fabtron website and didn't see black latigos nor off billets. I do leathercrafts and know black latigo leather exists, but I haven't seen it in saddle straps. The majority of latigo leather seems to be burgundy. Tandy Leather sells premium sides that are 4 to 4.8 mm thick in burgundy, and the black sides are just 3.2 to 4 mm. In case anybody cares and doesn't know, the tie straps used to always be latigo leather straps, so they were just called latigos. Now that they come in nylon, folks call them tie straps. Latigo tends to be very strong, and will stretch before it breaks. I have some latigo English stirrup leathers.
