Product Reviews by Customers

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Potentially Dangerous I brought this product last year. My horse bumped into it while entering his stall and the rim of the bucket cracked and shattered. Fortunately, the horse did not cut himself on the broken plastic chards. This product needs to be encased to make it safer for horses or else you're waiting for an accident to happen. Rated 3 out of 5 by The good and the Bad Buckets were as expected and I had no problems except the plastic on 1 seems overly brittle and the rim broke and bucket cracked after less than 1 months in use. Not happy but trying to exchange January 25, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Impressed I am impressed with this bucket and hope to use it for several winters! January 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product No more frozen buckets to contend with and I can be rest assured that my horses have water all night now. February 22, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lifesaver in the morning! My third winter using the two I purchased. My husband stopped using one of the back kennels, so instead of moving that one to the front he left it full and unplugged it. At -10 it froze and the bottom broke. I just went out to move it & discovered it broken. I put old stock pot in it until I get my new one. February 8, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by THE CORD IS NOT 6 FEET I ordered 3 because of the reviews and the fact that the cord was supposed to be 6ft. not so.. not sure it is even 4 ft. i dont want to use extension cords in my barn so thinking of sending them back. pluse they arrived stacked and it was nearly impossible to get them apart. 3 people tried... the bottom comes off and cord falls out unlike the blue ones where the cord retracts into bottom.. i dont see them as superior to the blue ones. in fact i prefer the blue ones. Rated 5 out of 5 by Heated water buckets I got these buckets a few years ago and they still work. Worth every penny. My horses drink more because they water isn't ice cold. Best thing ever! December 15, 2010

Why did you choose this? Store
I've been through 4 buckets from another brand in 2 years. The heating elements are too difficult to fix, so I'm hoping this brand will last longer.

Tired of water buckets freezing up.
Janell H on Nov 15, 2014
How long is the cord?
Diane M on Jan 25, 2014
Best Answer: The cord is 4' long. I have drilled a hole through my stall front and pull the cord through and then plug in. I have 2 stalls with the outlet within reach for this bucket, the other two I have an 8' grounded extension cord that I have to use with it. Do not let the buckets run dry while plugged in, it will burn the heater out. Great buckets!

if you forget to plug in a full bucket of water and it freezes it ok to just plug it in the next day to thaw out the frozen water?
shelly c on Jan 22, 2014
Best Answer: I did have a situation where the bucket was unplugged unbeknownst to me. Since it wasn't frozen solid, I broke the ice, emptied the bucket and refilled with water. I didn't want my animals to have to wait for the bucket to thaw the ice since I had no idea how long that would take. Hope this helps.

The cord is so short, how do you plug them in without using an extension cord?
Glenna V on Dec 8, 2013
Best Answer: Either mount them near an outlet. Otherwise I use heavy duty construction grade Extension cords, but use the shortest one possible and be sure not to overload your circuits. I run only 1 bucket per cord. I hope this helps.

Can poultry nipples be attached to the bottom without interfering with the heating element??
Mary V on Sep 27, 2015
Best Answer: I believe the heating element is in the whole bottom of the bucket. It is not exposed at all. I would imagine puncturing the bottom of the bucket (two layers- inside of the bucket, heating element and then bottom plastic) would interfere with the element and possibly be a fire hazard. I would not attempt manipulating this bucket but it does work excellently as a horse water bucket! Good luck!

Does this bucket come in other colors?
A shopper on Dec 8, 2014
Best Answer: Nope...just the color they show on the website. I personally like blue because you can tell when it's clean. The green hides a lot of hay and junk in the bottom that you don't see unless you empty or use a sieve like I do to scoop it daily.
