are these rubber or plastic?
renae w on Oct 7, 2013
Best Answer: They are heavy plastic, easier to keep clean but if they are not fixed (ie with a sanp on a hanger) the horses can crack them if they step on them. I use them for water buckets, any feed on the ground I use the rubber but they get kinda yucky and don't clean as well. Hope this helped! I have always used this brand and do like them.

Do these buckets have a steel ring under the top lip? The ones we have know tend to flatten out after awhile.
Kenny on Feb 5, 2015
Best Answer: I have used these buckets, ( Not pink) red and blue, but I do believe they are of good quality. I have used them for the past 12 years, I still have everyone that I purchased. I have draft horses and quarter horses. The draft horses seem to be a little harder on the buckets, but have not had any trouble with them damaging them. They do not have a steel ring, they have steel loops where the handles attach. Even after all these years and daily use my buckets are in great shape. They also are strong enough to use a rubber mallet to break out the ice in the winter, ice comes right out without any trouble. I hope this helps ,I have only good things to say and would not be afraid to purchase more of the same in years to come. Fran
