Why did you choose this?
How long is the connection hose?
Best Answer: 24 to 27 inches long for the connection hose. I've got one with each purchase... Waterer works great too.... we have purchased 3 or 4 of these and no issues at all. Use ONE for waterer for the dogs outside.... soooooooo easy to clean with the drain plug in the bottom.....
Hope this helps.... Linda & Brad
How well does the float work? Does the water shut off completely?
Best Answer: Depending on where you live this is a very good item. I have put 3 units around my pasture for the horses to be able to drink when heeded rather then to have to go back to the main water tank. The floats have never let water seep in causing overflow but you must keep the bucket clean to make sure nothing keeps the float from getting stuck. If you live in a very cold area be sure to keep the bucket out of the wind to stop the water from freezing. I open the drain on the bottom of the bucket and let water out below the float and turn the water off until it gets above freezing. If this is used inside a protected area you should have not problem.
can you hook up from either side? I have one like this and it hooks up on the other side. (left side when facing waterer)
Best Answer: Good evening Jerry......
I just checked my and it only has the hookup for the "right" side as you face the waterer. I looked for a plug or something where you could switch it over to the left side but I didn't see anything there. I "suppose" you could drill a hole and make the right sized hole and switch over the float.... but that would put all the adjustments on the back side of the waterer.... somewhat difficult to adjust without taking off the entire piece. Then you would have to have a plug for the other side... Seems like it would be just as easy to run a flex stainless steel tubing around the back and hook it up on the right side... about all I can see that would be a LOT easier fix... unless they make a left sided waterer... Hope that helps.... Take care, Brad~~~<><
Can they be mounted on pipe panels?
Best Answer: The fortified over the fence waterer cannot be mounted directly onto the pipe panels because they are to heavy. You can put a wood block behind the bucket to support the weight.
i bought a bsd20 fortiflex over the fence waterer and i need to know were i can get the float assembly or a parts list ?
Best Answer: Probably not the answer you want to hear, but I have 4 of the Fortified over the fence waterers, and all came with a gloat assembly, and shield to protect the float from being damaged from animals using it. It's great for Chickens to by the way. They love it, and I don't hAve to go out twice a day to check their water. Oh yeah, my Goats love them too.
