Easily cleaned and keeps the block out of the dirt, prolongs life of the block
Lila W on Aug 24, 2015
I prefer to have my horse's salt block encased. It keeps him from rolling the bock around in his stall.

does it hold a large salt block?
A shopper on Jan 16, 2016
Best Answer: Yes it does. I use it to put salt in the field for my horses. Because it has holes it allows rain water to drain and the salt block doesn't melt.

How deep is the pan?
A shopper on Nov 11, 2015
Best Answer: It is about 3-4 inches deep. The photo on the website shows the salt block placed vertically in the pan, as in, the block looks very tall. I place my salt blocks the other way, horizontally so they lay flatter in the pan. I really like this pan. I used to use a small pan with smaller blocks and my horses kept tipping them over and stepping on them. This pan has solved that problem. they haven't moved it once!
