The Havahart® battery-operated electric fence charger for pets and small animals is the ideal energy source for your fence.  Used with Havahart® electric fence kits, this charger presents the ideal solution to keeping pets in your yard and keeping unwanted critters out.  It helps prevent damage from animal mischief.

Powered by two D-cell batteries (not included), this electric fence charger comes with a mounting stake for easy installation. It has intermittent DC output and works up to one mile under ideal conditions .  This charger has a one year limited warranty.

Not recommended for polytape fencing.
 
Output voltage:  7.5KV +/- 20% open circuit voltage
 
Ideal for use with Aluminum 14 to 17-gauge wire or galvanized steel wire.

Excellent Portable Corral Fencer - EXCEPT for plas, 8/30/2011

I have been using this unit for over 4 years for trail camping with my horses and it works very well, runs seemingly forever on the 2 batteries. Remember to ground it, jury rig a different spike or installation from the start and you are a go for a portable corral using wire or electric fencing rope wire, a rubber gate handle and cheap, lightweight step in posts in a hockey bag - handy!

Screw holding battery compartment together had broken the plastic. Nail hole for hanging flimsy. Spike a joke; don't even try. Hoping the unit works when I tie it to a post. Bad design.

The unit works great except the spike that goes into the ground is plastic and broke immediately. Mounting spike needs to be much more substantial. I ended up putting sand in a coffee can and sinking the taped-up spike into that. Flimsy at best, but usable. Runs forever on 2 "D" cell batteries
