need something to keep my saddle from slipping
Siobhan M on Mar 28, 2014
I had purchased one last year and it was excellent value and quality. I have a new horse and needed a new one.
Jennifer S on Feb 8, 2014
I have looked long and hard for a good 5pt breastplate, I was drawn to this one because of price, and the elastic was brown not colored. And I love this breastplate! It really looks nice, has lots of padding, fits great, and its great quality.
Carolyn M on Feb 21, 2014
Good fit and quality for the price, has really held up well.
Leah Katrina W on Oct 14, 2013
I noticed on the HDR Pro 5 Point Elastic Breastplate, there is a clasp to attach to the girth... I have an M. Toulouse Monoflap girth with no ring... Would this breastplate still be able to work for me/big enough/ if I slip my girth through what appears to be an opening on the picture ?!?
Annie C on Mar 3, 2015
Best Answer: I think it would still be large enough, but that also depends on what size your horse is. I have done this with my breastplates before and as long as the strap that goes down to the girth is long enough, you should be good.

Is this product ok to use if you do hunters and you will just be schooling in this?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2015
Best Answer: I don't think anyone would tell you that you can't school in anything - except your trainer perhaps. If you do hunters, this might be a little more than you need. It works great for galloping cross country because it stabilizes the saddle from multiple points. It does come with the running attachment which has a lot of benefit for horses that tend to pop their heads up. However, most hunters are riding in a standing martingale these days and if you intend to, it may be better to school your horse in what you intend to show in so that there aren't big changes for your horse when ribbons are at stake.

what size would fit my 15.1 hand arab? he is narrow.
Bridget F on Jul 30, 2014
Best Answer: Hi Bridget! We love the 5 point breastplate and bought the horse sized for our short and chunky Gypsy Vanner mare. I would not get the oversized for your narrow Arabian, but the horse sized might work for you (our girl filled it out in width, but your boy will fill in out with height.) It works well for us and has a lot of adjustment holes on the leathers. We have been very pleased. Good luck!

I'm worried that the lack of sheepskin on the chest will rub my sensitive mare. Has anyone had issues with this?
A shopper on Sep 19, 2015
Best Answer: It is padded. My sensitive thoroughbred gelding has not had any trouble. It's a good value for the price. I did replace the hardware that snaps to the Saddle D rings because one of them broke when I was jumping.

I have a bigger 15.3 PerchXTB, what size?
Iris M on Nov 29, 2014
Best Answer: I bought the 'Horse' size for my 16.0h Spanish Mustang. Despite his larger shoulder, I still needed to put in extra holes to shorten a few of the straps to get it to fit properly. I'm betting that the Horse size should do fine for your perchx. Good luck! Nice quality tack. The fleecy parts are nice but a little tricky to clean.

I have a 15.2 QH mare who needs a breastplate. She has your usual QH build. Does this run big or small? What size should I get?
Eventer12 on Dec 28, 2015
Best Answer: This item should run true to size, but it will depend on the actual condition and build of your horse. Please reference our size chart via the link below to determine the correct size you will need: https://www.breeches.com/size_charts/size_chart_5098.htm

would the "horse" size fit both a 14.3 quarterhorse and a 16.2 morgan mix?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2014
Best Answer: Hi,
The breastplate will definitely fit the 14.3 QH but not sure about the 16.2 Morgan. I am currently using it on a 15h paint and fits well, but i was using it on a 15.3 QH. It fit him but the strap that connects to the girth was adjusted as large as it goes so it may not be long enough for your Morgan. But it is a very nice breastplate, all padded and super soft leather totally worth the money and hard to believe the price is as low as it is. I absolutely love mine so it might be worth it to try it out and if doesnt work out for you then return it. Good luck hope I was able to help you.

I have a big 17hh. Thoroughbred gelding will the HDR Pro 5 Point " HORSE" Elastic Breastplate fit him???
thanks, Danielle
Dani or DJ on Aug 5, 2014
Best Answer: It might not. I purchased the oversize for my 15.2, part draft mare. It fits her really well with room to spare once I adjusted it. I had accidentally been sent the cob one first and that didn't even fit over her neck. Returns were relatively painless though so if you're not satisfied you could always exchange a size.

I have a (about) 13.2 hh quarter horse gelding and I was wondering what size is recommended? He fits in a horse bridle/halter if that is helpful. Thanks!
A shopper on Dec 22, 2015
Best Answer: The appropriate size will need to be determined by the muscling and build of your horse and not by height alone. Please visit the link below to view our size chart for this item and let us know if you have any further questions!

I have a fairly narrow 16.2hh TB and a 15.1hh Arabian.. Do you think I could make the horse size fit both of them? Or could the cob fit both of them?
A shopper on Nov 11, 2014
Best Answer: I bought the cob size for my 14.3 hand horse. I am currently using the first or second hole on all adjustments. There is probably 4 -6 inches of leather left. If your tall horse is not REALLY broad through the shoulders I think it would work for you to get the cob size for both. (:

i have a 15.2 paint gelding on the average to a bit narrow body type wears a cob size bridle what size breast collar ?
cheryl h on Sep 19, 2014
Best Answer: I would get the horse size. I ride a big 17.2 warmblood in the over size amd it fits him prefect and have a thoroughbred that's 15.2 built more like an apendix and I was able to adjust my oversize chest collar to fit my thoroughbred. I also have a 16 hand thoroughbred that has a cob size bridle and isnt super think but is nicely built ans i can adjust the chest collar to fit him as well.So I'm sure the horse size will work. And if you end up getting a bigger horse then you won't have to buy another. Other wise the cob mite fit but will probly have to be adjusted to max size.

I have been looking at this for awhile but, I have not seen any pictures of it in black. Does it actually come in black?
Megan N on Nov 29, 2015
Best Answer: Yes they come in brown and black! State Line was the only vender, I could find, who offers the breastplate in black.
