Fitting Your Horse's Blanket

The fit of your blanket is extremely important to the comfort of your pony. An improperly fitted blanket can cause rubbing and slippage. To find out what size Amigo® blanket your horse needs, measure the distance from the center of the chest to the center of the tail. Horseware Amigo® blankets are sized in three-inch increments, so you will need to choose the closest size available. If you measure between sizes, we recommend that you round up.

Care Of Your Horse's Blanket

To keep your blanket as comfortable as possible for your horse and to maximize the blanket's life, we recommend that you clean your blanket annually. First, remove excess dirt from the outside of the blanket with a brush and hose. The blanket can then be washed either by hand, or on a delicate cycle with cool water in a commercial washer. Use only very mild soap. Horseware® recommends Rambo® Rug Wash, an environmentally friendly product for use on synthetic fabrics. Rambo® Rug Wash will effectively remove dirt without damaging the waterproof coating. When the blanket has been washed, allow to drip dry and ensure that the blanket is thoroughly dry before storage. Do not put your horse's blanket in the dryer or wash with hot water. Do not store your horse's blanket if damp or wet. This will damage the waterproof coating and void any warranties. In the unlikely event that your horse blanket should become nicked or damaged due to horse abuse Horseware® recommends Rambo® Stormsure or the Rambo® Blanket Repair Kit to contain and waterproof the nicks that your blanket may incur through the years.

how do these run in size ?
A shopper on Dec 27, 2015
Best Answer: I believe they run a bit short from front to back. I have a new horse and this is the first sheet I purchased for him. The front does not have any adjustment so it just fits one way and seems a bit snug in the chest and the leg straps are extended full length to connect. My horse is wearing a 72" and I measured carefully.

does this have a detachable tail strap?
Evie G on Jan 27, 2015
Best Answer: You can remove it; but the item runs a little big - My Girl measures at 78", but the 78" is a little large - I probably should have gotten a 76" for her and that still would have been fine. I like their line just fine and have 2 other Amigo Bravo blankets as well. Good luck.
