Front felcro made fitting easier. Advise haing a fastner of some sort to cover velcro for those that like to pull it off. Otherwise pretty good blanket for the clearnace price

Well, my yearling colt figured out how to take this blanket off in about 5 minutes by pulling the velcro open and running out of it. I fear he will get tangled up in the straps if I try to have him wear it now. He also broke the clip on one leg strap getting out of it. Good design for an older horse used to wearing blankets, not for curious yearlings or horses easily bored. The velcro is just too tempting.

Please do not waste your money. Every foal I have tried it on has escaped. There needs to be clips on the front they can undo the velcro very easily and shimmy out of it.

I too had problems with finding the turnout somewhere out in the field every morning. I use an elastic surcingle and have had not one secpe.
on the valcro, keep it clean. I use a dog slicker and gentley move it the direction of the hooks. I have used the blanket now for three years. I would prefer a front closure that did not include valcro but I have yet to find one. It took a long time to get a youngster to accept the valcro sounds!

The very first night we put this on our pony, he pulled front opening and shimmied out of it. The velcro seemed strong enough, but he didnt like wearing it, apparently. I loosened it, so the end of the velcro opening was directly under his head so he couldnt reach it with his teeth and he rubbed on the corner of his feed bucket until it pulled loose and he shimmied out of it again on the second night. Id return it, except that, apparently, he stood on it and peed. They need to make one with a clasp instead of the velcro.
