Kensington Deluxe Rope Clinician Training Halter

Made of heavy double filled 3/8" nylon cord, the Kensington Rope Halter offers a great combination of strength and control.  The 13" bosal has a braided noseband and a snug fit for added control compared to traditional soft nosebands.  Includes matching adjustable 12' cowboy lead rope with leather popper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 4 out of 5 by looks good but not as functional I ordered the black with the black/red/gold nose. It looked sharp on my 15.1hh buckskin QH, but took a lot of adjustment to get it small enough to fit him. It fit my 16.2hh Andalusian much better. You have to play with the noseband to get it not so stiff or it'll just sit across the bridge of his nose. I prefer a slimmer, more flexible rope for the remainder of the halter. The lead is what I don't like. I was excited to see it is long and has a leather popper but is too thin to do anything with. If you do natural horsemanship (or anything in-hand, really), it is nearly impossible to "swing" the rope around in a circle more than once because it twists and collapses on itself and then just wraps around your hand, rendering it ineffective. Lastly, don't spend this much money on a rope halter/lead combo. I still prefer the cheap-o halters that are thin and break in quickly paired with a good, heavy lead. A 12 foot or longer piece of sail cord makes a great lead. It's dirty after trying it on a couple horses so I can't send it back... so I'm just keeping it as a spare. July 8, 2011
