These make attaching a breastplate way easier than trying to attach to the Ds of the saddle.

Cost to replace a missing fall down D ring is over $100, these work as well and are rider replaceable.

how is this D ring saver applied? What is it used for? Do you have a photo of the D ring saver in use?
DORIS L on Sep 1, 2015
Best Answer: Hi Doris,
The cord portion slips over the stirrup bar in front of the stirrup leather of your english saddle with the brass D pointing forward. This allows you to connect a breast plate or martingale strap to a much more secure D ring than the sewn in D on your saddle. The stirrup bar will not tear out! Also if for some reason your saddle does not have D rings then these can be added so you will have an option to use a D ring. Some people also them to connect a "trouble strap" from one D across to the other for a young rinder to use to hold for security if needed. I have them on all my english saddles so that I will not tear out the factory sewn in D's on my nice saddles when using breast plates. Hope this helps. I do not have a photo, try google images.
