Rated 5 out of 5 by Sensitive Horse my TB mare is pretty sensitive to leg pressure but not sensitive enough to go with out spurs...they are perfect for a beginners with an unsteady leg..the end is short enough it wont irritate the horse for an accidental kick to the side but they still provide enough to let your horse know your leg is actually there =] August 18, 2009

What straps work with these?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2015
Best Answer: What I did is bought the cheapest similar spurs I could find that come with straps and put the straps on these. If you can find just the straps then they should fit this as these spurs don't seem to have non-standard spur strap slot sizes.

What color metal are the spurs?
A shopper on Apr 25, 2015
Best Answer: These Spurs are Silver. :) They are made of stainless Steel. They are wonderful Spurs, I got them because I wanted a softer Spur and all horses I have ridden don't mind them. :) don't forget straps if you don't have them, because they don't come with them.

Are the knob ends a little lower than the spur, or does the know stick straight out?
SHARON V on Oct 14, 2014
Best Answer: Sharon,
My 10 year old granddaughter wears these spurs in her lessons. I'm pretty certain the knobs extend straight out.
In any event, she is very happy with them and they are effective. Great value!
