Really tiny and super thick... I needed something to help prevent my mare from getting sores but this has actually made the bit too small and more uncomfortable. Switching back to rubber guards!
This might be a good solution for somebody with a bit that's just a size too large, tho.

I meant to write a review earlier but never got the time so i thought i would do it now. I bought these when I first got my horse(about 1.5yr ago) and they lasted for about idk 10 months which i thought was great then it was time to buy new ones which yes i procratinated a little but when i finally bought them in july? i think. they were HORRIBLE! the kept falling OFF the bit for no reason. The velcro refused to stay velcrod. I am a bit upset because i bout 2 pairs and eventually 3 of 4 were gone in a time frame of 2 weeks, because they would fall off. Im really disappointed in the quality i had recieved. I did email this site and say my dissatisfaction but i didnt get a reply or refund. So im upset about the service too

I had these once and they were great. I had a horse who constantly worked the bit, even though it was fitted perfectly. But from when I first put these on the bit, she stopped working the bit!I now have another horse who works her bit too, and so I need another set!

My two granddaughters are learning to ride. The two older horses I have them learning on are two wonderful babysetters. Triss and Rio, the horses, are in their 20s. The girls try not to get into their mouths but I noticed both horses were starting to get a little raw on the sides of their mouths. After using these bit guards for a couple of weeks, the raw areas healed up and we havent had a problem since. I feel like Rio and Triss both look at me with a thank you when they wear their new guards.
