Product Summary:

Nutramax® Cosequin®  ASU Plus

Cosequin® ASU Plus contains the same ingredients as Cosequin® ASU with the addition of HA and Green Tea Extract. HA (Hyaluronic Acid) is an agent that helps lubricate the joints.

Green Tea Extract is an antioxidant that protects the body from the damaging effects of free radicals. Cell culture research shows that these agents together inhibit many mediators that contribute to the breakdown of cartilage. New cutting edge scientific data shows that this combination of agents even inhibits NF-kappaB, a mediator that helps “turn on” the other mediators and so starts the process resulting in cartilage breakdown and less joint comfort. Cosequin ASU Plus for horses truly is an advanced formula providing comprehensive joint health support.

  • The most advanced Cosequin® joint health formula providing the next level of support

Not sure if I should chose ASU or ASU+ What's the difference?
Denise S on Dec 3, 2013
Best Answer: The ASU plus contains Hyaluronic Acid which I like to have in the joint supplements I provide my horse with. My understanding is that "HA" it a major component of synovial fluid, which lubricates the joints. I have had my horses hocks injected twice direclty with HA (as an injectable it is combined with other ingredients your vet would know more about)and gotten great results. I think it keeps a horse more comfortable if he/she is stiff or aging. My horse is a 29 year-old-young Quarter Horse I have owned for 25 years and have ridden and shown (to championship success)in open and dressage shows, and on trails for years. He is now retired but still has plenty of time and energy to fool around outside with his younger gelding buddies. I love ASU+!

how many scoops are in each
annie k on Apr 1, 2015
Best Answer: I believe there are 123 scoops in each container. I have a 16hh Thoroughbred and one container lasts him 2 months. Keep in mind, though, that you have to do a loading dose for the first few weeks so the horse can build the supplement up in their system, so you'll go through your first container quicker than you go through all the subsequent containers.

what is good for tight muscles? She is so tight that she some times walks on her toes in the rear. Is there and thing that I can give her
A shopper on Jul 6, 2015
Best Answer: I am not a veterinarian (and don't play on tv) but I don't think this is the product for that. Personally if the muscles are that tight I would be speaking to a vet.
