Rated 5 out of 5 by Very durable cinch strap! I love this thing. It's super durable and easy to wash when it starts getting dirty. Some other nylon cinch straps I've gotten seemed super stiff and hard to break in but these are perfect! August 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good product I like this tie strap. the holes are convenient, and they are very easy to cinch up. Own probably 3, even have one on my show saddle. Owned my oldest one for about 10yrs, still going strong. :) August 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nylon Tie Straps Practical - Easy to Cinch This is a nice quality nylon tie strap. We use them both sides of saddle in case we have to release saddle from off side easily in emergency. Easy to cinch even when wet (unlike leather). Easy to wash and quick to dry. Great value for the $$$. September 14, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great I am breaking my 4 year old qurter horse mare. One year ago we had a little acdient in the ring. The saddle sliped and broke both the tie strap and the off billet.I bought this and IT"S GREAT .I LOVE IT.The price is great. February 27, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best fit and Best price Well I originally wanted leather straps to match my saddle but when they were out of the leather I decided to just get these for now since they were so affordable anyway, they would work for the moment. I didn't realize how well they would work though... The colors match any saddle light, medium or dark. The nylon straps are also A LOT easier to cinch up than leather, especially if you have a "cinchy" quarter horse with a past like I do. There are also plenty of holes in the strap for any sized horse round or thin. I recommend this strap set for any rider and horse. March 27, 2009

I purchased a cross buck packsaddle tree from another vender and built a packsaddle. I found that it was cheaper to build my own packsaddle piecemeal rather than to purchase one already built. This item was used for the rigging.

what is this actually for and would leather be better to have?

Best Answer: these straps are a less expensive option, compared to the leather straps that are used to secure saddle onto your horse. They are easier to tye compared to leather straps that sometimes are thick and stiff, unless you have well broken in,properly conditioned leather straps, the poly strap is sufficient for pleasure riding. You might seek advice from people involved in high speed activities if you intend to participate in such activities.
