Product Reviews by Customers

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product These are fabulous clippers! I have had both Oster A2 and A5 single speed clippers (both lasting 15 - 20 years!) and these turbos deffinately have them beat. Yes, they do heat up some, but cool right down in a couple of minutes. They are the perfect size for my miniature horses and with the wide blade that came with them are quite capable of a full body clip. They also came with a free set of Equine Adjusta Groom clippers sold separately for $52. Can't beat that deal! The Adjusta Groom clippers work great on faces and ears, although they are a bit on the loud side. I can't say anything but good things about Oster's clippers and highly recommend them to any pet owner sho is in need of a good set of clippers. April 12, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Complaints about Freebies Sometimes, the things we want, we can't have. We learn as children that life is not always fair. Instead of whining in a review, if you only bought these clippers because you thought you'd get something for free, and you didn't, SEND THEM BACK AND GET A REFUND. I'm sure Stateline Tack would have paid the return shipping if you'd just asked. I've been ordering from them for years and never had a problem. January 21, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Impressed! Received my Turbo A5 clippers yesterday. They clipped through very heavy pony hair and bridle path easily. They do get hot after 15 minutes, so keep the spray cooler handy. Not much louder than Golden A5 model. My Golden A5 clippers, fully **22 years old** finally needed to be retired! Happy camper now! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Clippers with Free Cordless Trimmer These clippers are great! They are not very loud, they make clipping very quick and they also came with the free cordless trimmers. If I ever needed new clippers I would purchase these again. October 26, 2009

Oster makes a reliable clipper. Snap on blades make clipping quicker.

Can you body clip an entire horse with these clippers? I am looking to clip my horse.
Jane L on May 24, 2014
Best Answer: You sure can! It's one of the reasons I bought these clippers last year, and have been very happy with them. After the winter we had, I had a wooly mammoth on my hands this spring, and I body clipped with no problem!

I mainly want to trim fetlocks, whiskers and ears. Are these "too much power" for those areas?? Also, do these have a close setting and a "not quite so close" setting? Thanks for any info!!
Carol K on Feb 9, 2015
Best Answer: No. These clippers are not too much power for what you need. As far as a close and not so close setting, that depends on what type of blades you use. A #10 is what I've found ideal for fetlocks as they do not cut too close but give a neat, clean trim. While a #30 or #40 blade will be more suited for muzzles and ears depending on how close of a clip you desire with a #40 being a surgical blade. I've had a pair of Oster A5's since I was about 10 years old and my mom had a pair since she was a kid as well. I haven't found a better all purpose clipper yet. They're very durable with proper care and will last many years with proper care. Plus Oster can rebuild them should they happen to become worn out or broken.

Would these be good for trace clipping my thoroughbred?
A shopper on Nov 29, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, they would. They are a good all around clipper. From fine detailing to occasional body clipping. I've used them since I was about 12 years old and I'm in my 30's now and haven't found a task hey couldn't handle

Do these come with free Equine Adjusta Groom clippers? Or a free cordless pair? I've seen that some of the reviews mentioned this but it is not mentioned in the description.
Meggers on Nov 26, 2014
Best Answer: No they don't come with a pair of cordless clippers just clipper with #10 blades and carrying case. Great clippers for touch up after body clipping doing legs and face. Might do entire body on a smaller horse with a coat that is not to long or thick they tend to get hot.

I have a pair of very old Oster ClipMaster sheers...the Model 510A with the dual screw-in blades that are used for body clipping. Is this a good replacement for it, or is this more of the smaller clippers for faces and bridle paths and such? ...or should I try to get these old, loud ones repaired?
Anastasia on May 26, 2014
Best Answer: I have done great body clips with these! The wide blade is awesome, as is the snap on blade replacement feature. With an extra set of wide blades, cooling spray and an extension cord, I can do 2 horses form winter fuzz to sleek in no time. They do vibrate a bit more than some other brands, and they do get hot, but I find all Oster clippers to be that way. These are my favorite clippers of the Oster line for general barn use.
