My head measures 22 1/2, which is size 7 1/8. Should I buy a Small/medium or a Medium/Large?
Joyce C on Oct 7, 2014
Best Answer: It is hard to say sight unseen. First make sure you are measuring the circumference of your head about 1/2" above your eyebrows. If that is still 22 1/2" you are correct that you are at the top edge of the Small/Medium and the low edge of the Medium/Large. Generally adults prefer to "size up." Keep in mind this helmet is adjustable. If you can't quite dial the Medium/Large down small enough, you can always add a headband or bandana to take up a little space. For the Small/Medium there would be no way to make it a little larger if it felt tight. Sometimes people buy both sizes & plan to return the one that doesn't fit; perhaps that would be an option for you.

How do I know what size in helmets to buy?
A shopper on Feb 25, 2015
Best Answer: I went to a tack shop and tried it on & then bought it here for a much better price! I've had lots of helmets, but this is by far my favorite one. So comfortable! I love the dial feature. Also, if you cannot try one on at a tack shop you can measure your head & go to ovation's website and read the sizing charts.

hi i wear 6 7/8 is that sm or sxs ?
juanita on Jul 12, 2014
Best Answer: I wear 6 7/8 also, & a small is just a little loose unless I tuck my long hair up under my helmet. Also the back comes down far enough that it interferes with my ponytail. Good ventilation, though! Especially helps in extreme TX summer heat. I don't know if XS would be too tight (maybe depending on how thick your hair is). Hope that helps!
