how long does the battery last in the fence charger?

Best Answer: Just to clarify, there isn't a battery in the the Patriot PE5B, it connects to a 12 volt car battery, which met my needs perfectly. I use it for a simple low perimeter electric wire around a chicken coop. It lasts several weeks on a single charge before it drops below 11 volts, then I simply charge it up again. I've had it for about 5 months and it's still working great. It's been rained and watered by sprinklers several times but still works great!
