I have used this Solitude IGR on my 3 horses since early spring and have noticed no difference in the amount of flies I have around the barn. Also, my horses have all displayed some degree of "itchy butt" and have been rubbing their tails off. I do not know if the product was the cause of this syndrome; however, it started after I started used the product and it is the only new item that they have been exposed to. So I recently discontinued use of the product to see if it would resolve the "itchy butt" syndrome. The product is very expensive and I got no improve fly control.

Hello, I have used Solitude IGR for three years. The product is as described; the fly issue has dropped dramatically. However, three years ago my mare started having an itchy stomach/rare areas in Feb. Previously, I have blamed this on flies, but this year there were no flies until March 29. I begin Solitude in February as usually the flies begin early here in the desert. It occurred to me that this itching starts in February and I begin IGR in February. Has anyone else had a horse that developed this condition that coincides with the feeding of IGR?

I used this product for almost 2 years and ran out a couple months ago. I decided to try without and have noticed a huge increase in the fly population. The biggest thing I just came across was that I dispose of the manure into large plastic garbage cans and I opened the lid yesterday and there were thousands of developing fly larvae squiggling around all over the container. This has NEVER happened in the past so I have to figure that the Solitude had been doing an awesome job up until the time I ran out!

The flies are absolutely horrible in my area resulting in some huge vet bills last summer treating summer sores. I've used predators for the last two years but this year I added Solitude to my "fight." I started in Feb as we have a long fly season and I've had very few flies this year. Also, I've not had to use fly spray this year on my horses. I'm also still using predators but the Solitude has really made the difference. Will continue this "forever." Worth it even though it is a bit pricey. Another plus, my horses eat it by itself and wait for me to give it to them.

I have 2 horses and living in Southeast Louisiana, were bugs are really bad at times, especially since hurricane Katrina. Little black flies were driving my horses and me crazy, nothing worked untill I got Solitude IGR! This product is a life saver. Everyone should try it!!!!

Excellent product -- have 27 horses and it is so simple to add to the feed. I use year round now to prevent even those flies that want to overwinter from getting a head start on me during warmer time of winter. Have used for 2 years and wont use anything other feed thru cause Solitude is so much safer and effective than the other feed thru products for all my horses. Solitude doesn't kill the beneficial insects and invertebrates like other fly products.

The rebate form said the original UPC had to be included. The UPC was printed at the bottom of a very thin label on the tub. The only way to remove it in one piece would be to cut it out of the tub, which has a three month supply of product. I wrote the bar code number on the rebate form and explained the problem. Today I received a postcard saying the rebate was denied because the original UPC was not included. Very disappointing!

I have four horses housed on somewhat small acreage and the city limits are creeping closer with every passing month. One border of my 2 acre large corral now looks out on the parking lot for a dentist office! Fly control is mandatory not only for horse health but also to prevent complaints so I started using Solitude IGR in conjunction with frequent manure clean up. We have very few flies in and around the area, and a reasonably low number of flies pestering the horses. I suspect the flies that are here were not even hatched here...but instead traveled over from a neighboring rubbish area not under our control. All in all a very good product provided you can afford to add it to the budget for fly control along with some topical sprays and fly masks. This is my third year using the product and the horses handle it just fine with no negative effects whatsoever. Thanks for helping us keep our horses fly free and our neighbors happy!

I absolutely hate flies. I have tried sprays, traps, ointments, masks, fly predators, and Equitrol. Solitude works the best by far. With Equitrol, you can smell the pesticide in the manure, and that seems unsafe. Solitude works differently, not killing the flies but preventing them from developing into adulthood, and it is much safer. Sometimes I have to look around for 10 seconds to find a fly, and when I find a second one, I think it might be the first fly coming around again. I hand feed it individually to my horses in pasture every day. It takes me 15 minutes to do 22 horses, and I am fly free. Heaven!
