Professional's Choice SMB II Boots
Made from limestone-based neoprene, the Sports Medicine Boots II (SMB II®) are the longest lasting boots available on the market today. Limestone neoprene is shown to resist aging caused by exposure to the elements, such as direct sunlight, moisture, and dirt better than petroleum based neoprene.

Also, the SMB II is the only boot on the market with an antimicrobial inner-lining to prevent skin diseases, such as scratches.

SMB II's were designed to absorb a portion of the energy generated as the hoof impacts the ground. The more energy absorbed, the less energy available to deform and injure the soft tissues of the limb. SMB II's provide the highest proven levels of shock absorption, and help to prevent injuries associated with hyperextension of the fetlock.

Scientific testing at Oklahoma State University showed that the SMB II absorbs up to 45% of hoof concussion energy on some horses. Eight times more than traditional bandages!

Innovation in materials and design of the SMB II can be credited for the higher levels of shock absorption. This means your horse will experience less negative stress while training, competing and maintaining a daily routine. And, if your horse has been injured or is rehabilitating from bowed tendons or suspensory ligament pulls, wearing the SMB II's during exercise will help speed the healing process. Plus, the Sports Medicine Boots II get better with age. According to the scientific testing, actual use of the SMB II enhances its fit, function, and shock absorbing ability. SMB II's award-winning protection keeps your horse comfortable so you can concentrate on performance.

Sold in pairs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Too Hot! I bought a pair of these for my TB (size medium) when I first got him. I used them for gaming, cows, and everyday riding. They made his legs too hot! even when riding for less than an hour his legs would be drenched in sweat under the boots and sweat would drip down from under the boots. The fetlock strap also wasn't wide enough so the the other part of the boot would pop out from under the fetlock strap while running, I was constantly fixing them. The quality of the materials and stitching seemed good. I sold these and bought a pair of Legacy's which are great! January 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent all around boot I have only used these a few times, but in several different scenarios. One was a speed show, barrels, poles, cones, etc. Another was trails in a wide variety of ground cover/obstacles. These boots stayed on really well, fast, slow, jumping low logs, etc. We have lots of sand, loose rock, clay, etc, and after a couple of long days, the dirt/sand that crept up into the boot was amazingly small. Dirt we were running in was very deep ( nice stuff for barrels n poles ). Another arena was kind of a sandy/dirt/ tiny gravel mix, not my fave, but its what was there. Again, very little dirt or grit got in. My horse is about 15.3 hands, a big girl, but only avg size hoofs. first time I bought large, definitely too big, sent them back WITHOUT a hitch, got the Mediums, they fit fantastic. These are not as protective as a genuine barrel boot, or boot/bell combo, but my horse is more apt to clip the inside of her leg, than over-reach, so for my uses, these seem to be a really nice, easy to put on, STAYS where you put them boot. The velcro with 4 attachment points, is secure, and you can adjust how tight you want what pressure where. I dont get to ride on consistent basis, so it will be a while before I update on how these are holding up to wear and tear. Initial reports though is 5 stars across the board. The red boot looks great on my Tobiano brown n white paint mare. Got these on sale here at I would get another pair, even with so little use, they do seem like they will easily last for my uses and get my moneys worth. November 10, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by -Perfection I love these boots. Use them whenever i am riding. they haave kepy my mare and gelding safe from tons of injuries that they could have gotten without the boots. Loved them even more once my vet told my friends that she could ride her horse (who was recovering from an old tendon injury)sooner than origianlly anticpated. I always have a pair for my horses plus a spare. A MUST HAVE for any horse owner June 8, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by great such a great thing to have to keep your horse safe. it is easy to use and clean. this is a must have. May 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Product I love these! I ordered the blue pair for my 24 year old mare, and they save her from all possible injuries when I am barrel racing and polo bending! At first it was hard to tight them enough and they keep slipping, once they got worn in a little they were easier to tighten. Would by another pair in a heart beat! February 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these! I love these so much, they're easy to put on and take off, toss them in the washer and the outside looks like new, but getting the inside like new takes a bit more scrubbing. Only problem I have had with them is once I was on trail. The stream crossing washed out and a ton of sand was there(not that I knew that at first). from a riders point of view it looked pretty safe, not too deep of sand, and embankment up was only a foot maximum. well when my horse and I got in it the sand/mud was at least a foot deep, plus he had to get up the embankment. He would have made it up if his back legs hadn't of gotten stuck in the sand from the SMB's. He ended up with his knees on the sandy embankment, and his back legs working their way out. Without the boots on he probably would have not gotten stuck. Once free and up, I checked his legs, front boots hardly budged, back boots slid down, but both were still on(also he has no shoes so all good there too). we took a different way home. These boots also collect burrs which can be annoying. Still I highly recommend them to all. February 20, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good but Haven't Lasted Well I've been using a pair of these for a little over a year on my elderly horse who bowed a tendon. They have been great for giving him some extra support on trail rides and for arena work. But, they haven't held up very well. The stitching that holds the straps on is coming out, and the lining is separating from the outer layer. I only use them once or twice a week and expected longer wear than this. I'm ordering another pair and hope they last better. December 26, 2011

A shopper on Aug 28, 2013
Best Answer: Go to the StateLine website and click on the icon for SMB II boots. Scroll down the description where you will find a size chart for the boots. I have bought several pairs of these boots, which are my very favorite boots for my reined cow horses, reining horses and even for support on the trail. I find the sizing information provided is very accurate.

Are these front or back?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2015
Best Answer: These boots can be used on the front or the back. It's just a matter of if they fit right. The back are usually a size bigger than the front. My horse wears a small on the front and a medium on the back. Hope this helps!

Are these the front or rear boots?
Rian S on Dec 12, 2014
Best Answer: it depends on your horse' fetlock measurement. you'll have to measure to see if this size is appropriate for your horse's hind legs. my mare has all mediums on all 4 legs. my gelding has medium on front and large on rear.

How do I size the SMB so that I can order the right size?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2014
Best Answer: I thought I knew all my horses sizes and some measurements- tho it had been awhile and decided to measure all I could, including the SMB chart. I was very surprised at what I assumed and their actual measurements! Some numbers seemed they were in between. I have QH,quite large boned, stocky refiners but the 100s were the right fit. There's a lot of give in the material and after some readjustments the first few rides- we are all happy, comfy And secure! But they do run big.. and this is my exp this summer with only the SMBII! ??

I need smb ll 100 and 200 sizes for front and back. How do I know the medium is front or back?
Peggy S on Aug 25, 2014
Best Answer: I wash my SMB II almost daily, hosing them and scrubbing a bit depending on how hot and sweaty the AZ day was! Just hang to dry in indirect light and keep out between use for us here and never had a problem with fit! I find they run large( a big surprise after never measuring for years but with all the give and adjusting the straps a few times after several ship/returns ev1 in the barn is happy and comfy and secure! Hope I helped a bit- thanks! ??
