Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by highly recommend I've had several black horses. They are out 24/7. Although they have protection shelters, they seem to choose to stand out in the hot sun. I have tried some really expensive supplements and shampoo treatments. None of which have ever worked. In fact, one turned my horse orange. Figured I would give Quic Screen a try. I was thrilled that my black show horse stayed dark. Don't waste your money on those expensive supplements that don't work when this product not only works but doesn't break your bank account. Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this! I brought this product as an alternative for my horses ripped UV sheet, and now I dont even use the sheet at all! I was thoroughly impressed at how it kept my all white ponies skin protected and not the least bit burnt. This is a good buy :) December 5, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really works! I have been using this product for 3 months before writing this review. I have a paint with gorgeous deep-black patches, but the TX summers really do a number on her coat. She stands in 100+ degree heat for 5-6 hours each day with full sun and no way of getting out of it. Needless to say, the combination of sweat and sun quickly fade her lovely black patches into yucky burnt reddish-brown. Last year, I tried an expensive feed-through supplement with no results, so this year I grabbed a bottle of QuicScreen when I saw it on sale at the beginning of the season. I didn't have high expectations for a product you spray on just once every 8 days, but so far I've had great results. There is no fading on her body and minimal fading on her face (where I have been afraid to put much on). The directions say to apply after shampooing, but I just hose her off really well and then towel-dry before applying. You don't need a whole lot of it; if you spray on too much, it leaves a weird gritty residue on the coat. All in all, it's a great product and a must-have for dark horses in summer. I've also had great success with the QuicGroom product from this line, so check that out if you need a non-stripping waterless shampoo for white coats. August 3, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stuff! Quic Screen works GREAT. You apply it once a week and it prevents even the darkest horses from fading. I'll never be without it! February 18, 2010

To stop my horse from getting sun bleached

Can this be used on horses nose to prevent sunburn?
A shopper on Aug 1, 2015
Best Answer: It may help, but I would recommend using something with zinc oxide in it. That will provide much more protection. I have also purchased zinc oxide powder (from Amazon) and mixed with A&D ointment and applied to my horse's nose when it was getting burned. Worked like a charm. This spray seems to primarily help with bleaching which isn't necessarily caused by the same spectrum of UV light that causes the burns.

Does This cause any build up or over oiliness on the horses body?
Elizabeth W on Nov 29, 2015
Best Answer: Hi there! No, this product has no buildup or oily properties whatsoever. I love this stuff. It has a consistency of milky water. I have a black horse and I spray this on her once a week in the summer. After I spray it on, I like to take a soft brush and give her a quick swipe all over to make sure I've applied it evenly. (This is just what I do, but It's probably not necessary since the sprayer it comes with sprays a nice even mist.). My mare stays shiny black all summer even though she is turned out most hours of the day and night. Best product out there to protect your horses coat in my opinion! I get compliments all year on how beautiful my horse is since she isn't sun-bleached like most. (I even use it on my dog.. A Black Labrador .. He's super shiny too!). :)

I intend to use this as a wipe for my mares nose as she tends to sunburn. Would this work and do u have a spf rating ?
A shopper on Jul 10, 2015
Best Answer: Dear shopper, my paint mare has a tendency to get a sunburn on her pink nose. Although I love the Quic Screen product, it's not the best practice for managing the face. I've learned through trial and error that either a long fly mask covering the nose works or applying desitin diaper rash ointment. I also use the desitin around the tail area to inhibit itching and sunburn. Hope this helps! Best of luck, Anna
