Why did you choose this?
Statelinetack.com Store
I have two horses that aren't real happy with the bit. They chomp at it andconstantly stretch their necks and pull. I used a hackamore many years ago and had good results. I thought it would be a worthwhile try to make my horses happier. One of my horses really works against the bit. The reviews I read pretty much made it sound like a good thing to try as well.

I needed an arabian size for my horse, plus your prices are affordable.

will it fit a poa pony?
A shopper on Jun 16, 2015
Best Answer: I don't think it will fit a pony unless it is a rather large pony. I use it on an Arabian/Paint cross and it fits just a tad large. If I'm not mistaken, Stateline Tack also carries one in a pony size that is braided leather instead of the nylon rope.

will it fit a poa pony with a 4 1/2 bit size?
marty r on Jun 16, 2015
Best Answer: Great question. We've never fitted the bit on a POA. Only way I can answer is to ask you to make a compare your POA to an Arabian. The bit will probably be a little big but should work. Sorry, I'm not able to give you a better answer.

Best Answer: I actually had the same question when shopping,I don't think there is one unless the Arab one is a bit smaller. I only used it a couple of times I felt like It didn't do much, my old hack was clunky but I liked the thicker nose band and longer shank . My horse had torn the corner of her mouth a couple of years ago on a thick chain s hook that held the stall door open, and I was squeamish to use a bit for a long time, I have since gone back to a lite egg but snaffle and she's great. I didn't feel confident with that hackas my horse is very exuberant dancing crow hopping show off! I hope this helps!

How can you figure out the size of the horse's mouth?
Mario G on Dec 7, 2013
Best Answer: Most standard horses will fit a 5" bit just fine, though if you want to be picky about it, there are mouth sizing tools that work like bits that you can buy. I'm sure they have one available here, but there's a version called a "BitFit". Google it and I'm sure you can find it easily enough.

Does this work in conjunction with the head stall? Otherwise I am unsure how this works on a horsee's face. Does someone have a picture of this on your horse?
Heidi C on Nov 17, 2013
Best Answer: Yes, you also need a head stall. The head stall attaches where the U shaped bend is above the rope nose piece. The reins attach in front of the wire piece that is attached to the large circles. The head stall needs to be adjustable and needs to be able to adjust shorter that a regular head stall on an in the mouth bit.
