Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE IT i am so so happy with this pad the top is so soft and the color is so bright! the under side is very soft too and looks like it would be very comfy on the horse. i do not want my pads ruined so i always use a saddle blanket under my pads and even with the saddle blanket this pad fits my high withered mare like a glove!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely a great product!!!! does not absorb any sweat and any shedding hair is removed easily. worth the money and comes in great colors! June 18, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this saddle pad I bought this for my mare because she is very round backed and had no wither. It was perfect an kept the saddle from slipping. I now have another horse with a good wither but this pad fits him well too. I was not sure how I would like the top fabric but now that I have it I would order again. Easy to clean and is very durable. May 3, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Not for short backed horses My little short backed mare got big rub spots from this pad on both sides on top of her butt behind the saddle, just after one use. However, I have a big appendix gelding and it fit him great! He has big shoulders, high withers and a long back. It formed great to his withers, stayed in place, and didn't rub! For him, I love this pad! I wish they have them in shorter lengths because I love them for my gelding, they're just too long for my little mare. April 4, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality, reliable pad These really are the best pads. My barn uses them for the lesson program, and they're really great. They are padded and comfortable for the horses, and they are easily hosed off when they get dirty. The only problem I've ever had is when I ride bareback on my high-withered horse; I put this pad under my fleece bareback pad because his back is so sensitive, and the pad slips back a lot, no matter how tight the girth is. I think that that has more to do with his withers, however, and I never have a problem with a saddle. I highly recommend it. March 26, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome i got this pad for my barrel horse with very high withers. i saw a noticeible change in her preformince with this pad and she seems to be alot happier. this pad satifies me also! its a breez to clean, doesnt slip and i dont have to use an extra pad or saddle blanket underneath. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for High Withers I really like this pad, it is perfect for my Paint with very high withers. It is well-made and thick, and the microsuede is a nice material. Very easy to clean and looks sharp. I have had no trouble with it slipping, it stays in place and fits perfectly. I got it in black, so didn't get an unexpected color like others did. Rated 4 out of 5 by It will stop the slip! Great on my 14.3H trail horse. Other pads kept slipping back& sideways; this one stays in place. My horse likes it. A bit stiff when new but conforms in just 2-3 rides. Cleans easily. January 22, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by BEWARE THE COLOR When I ordered this pad, I was expecting a nice royal blue one that would match the blue seat on my show saddle. Instead, I recieved a LIGHT BLUE saddle pad, that Im not even sure if I will keep or not! Everybody has said this is a great saddle pad, and it looks like it, but please BEWARE THE COLOR! Rated 4 out of 5 by Terrific I bought one of these used from a friend...was so impressed that I am ordering a new one in a different color. It will always be my first choice - no slippage, good protection, I LOVE the contour over the wither - no more "tenting" the pad and hoping it doesn't bind. December 26, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by good pad I use my tacky too pad under a Bob Marshall treeless saddle it works very well no slipping! I have 2 of these pads and much prefer the one with the wither relief it fits my QH the best June 30, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Okay For the price it's a good pad. Easy to clean and looks nice. But I ordered caramel and got cappuccino. That's not even an option on here!! Still a nice pad, just be aware that you might not get a caramel pad if that's what you ordered! June 24, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Long Lasting Pad! I've been using these pads for 2 years. They're long lasting and the grip does not wear out. I use these on my barrel horses and they keep my saddle in the right spot with no slip and lots of grip. They form right to your horses back and it's just the right amount of "pad" between me and my horse. Plus the colors they come in a fun and personalized! For the price, I definitely recommend these pads! May 16, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by fixed my problem This is a good all around pad. My horse is young and his withers aren't that pronounced. A few pads I had really slid back on him and were also a little too long. This pad was perfect in length and did not slip at all. I like the padding thickness and also the contour. I will get this in another color soon. March 4, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Pad I have been using my Tacky-Too pad for over 6 months now. It is still in great shape, my saddle stays put and my horse is very happy. I will buy this type of pad again! June 18, 2009

Hoping to find a saddle pad that is easy to clean, easy on my horses back and does not absorb the sweat and become heavier than the saddle.

Like the fit, the padding, and the no slip feature, but have found an even better option since.

Hello, I am considering buying a treeless or soft saddle for my Welsh pony, but I am afraid of having the saddle roll or slip. Would this pad be appropriate for under a bare-back style saddle?
Thanks! jan

Best Answer: Hi Jan F -

I have five of the reinsman tacky too pads and they do not slip and last a very long time. This particular version is quite large - I believe it is larger than the measurements as it rubs the hip bones of one of our horses. We use it on a very narrow withered short backed mare that is extremely hard to fit. She gets a sore back easily and this pad does the trick - use it with any of our saddles and she does not get a sore back. My daughter prefers the rounded skirt versions of the tacky too series.

I recommend them highly but I do not have a treeless or soft saddle. We do have a Mustang which is probably the same size as your welsh (14.1 - 14.2) and the rounded pads fit her great.

Hope this helps.

How do you clean it?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2015
Best Answer: Its great because you just hose off the underside to keep it clean and remove debris. The outer side I brush with warm soapy water and hose off. Leave it out to air dry and it is good as new. I've had mine for about 2 years now and it still looks good. No fraying or tears.
